APM Terminals México , the specialized container terminal unit of  AP Moller-Maersk , delivered a computer lab and 18 personal computers to the winners of the “Youth in Motion 2024” soccer tournament, in recognition of the effort, talent, and dedication of the participants.

Enrique Ramírez High School , located in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, was the tournament’s winner , defeating the Center for Technological, Industrial, and Services Studies (CETIS) #34 by a score of three to one. The winners received a fully equipped laboratory, and each of the team’s 18 players received a personal computer.

This initiative aims to expand students’ learning and academic development opportunities , while inspiring them to continue their education with tools that boost their personal and professional growth.

“With this delivery, we take another step toward our commitment to youth and the transformative power of education. We believe that when technology reaches the hands of students, paths open, ideas are sparked, and new possibilities are born. Every young person deserves the opportunity to dream big and have the tools to make it a reality, no matter where they come from or what their goals are. Seeing their faces when the new classroom was unveiled was deeply inspiring; their eyes reflected infinite possibilities, curiosity, and a desire to learn. At APM Terminals Mexico, we believe in this future and work every day to make it possible,” said Beatriz Yera, General Manager of APM Terminals Mexico.

Sandra Barreda, Corporate Affairs Manager of APM Terminals Mexico, was also present at the awards ceremony.

This initiative is part of APM Terminals México’s strategy to generate value in the communities where it operates, focusing on education as a driver of social transformation .

It is worth remembering that last May, APM Terminals México signed a memorandum of understanding with the  General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine (CGPMM) to  support the professional development of students from the Merchant Nautical Schools  of Tampico, Veracruz and Mazatlán of the  Maritime Port University of Mexico .
