ZAPOPAN, JAL.- With an area of ​​10,000 square meters, Apymsa ‘s distribution center (DC) , located in this municipality in the state of Jalisco, is one of the most important warehouses the company has, since auto parts are supplied from here for all of Mexico and Guatemala.

In terms of volume, spare parts equivalent to four tractor-trailers leave this logistics unit per day

The facility ships 300 orders daily, and each order round consists of 2,000 SKUs  (codes that identify a product).

According to Javier Méndez, outbound supervisor, the warehouse permanently stocks 20,000 SKUs , making this distribution center an important hub for Apymsa’s more than 140 stores.

The Zapopan distribution center handles 14,000 storage positions throughout the warehouse, resulting in a robust spare parts inventory.

According to Méndez, in the picking area, each container is checked and scanned piece by piece “to verify that our products or orders are 100% packed and that there is no risk of a single piece being missing at our final destination.”

In order to maintain the warehouse in optimal condition and ensure that products are always available for fulfillment, inventories are conducted periodically

In that regard, Méndez noted that inventories are taken every three months to ensure the availability of spare parts , thus serving Apymsa’s customers in Mexico and Guatemala.

During a tour of the facility, Eric Blasco , Apymsa’s Commercial Director, indicated that the auto parts industry market exceeds $24 billion , making this segment strategic for Mexico

The executive emphasized that with the efficiencies offered by this distribution center, they will continue to strengthen their customer network and service to companies that manage fleets, something they have achieved with 360-degree logistics , which has allowed them to bolster their operational capacity.

Therefore, having a warehouse with the capabilities of the Zapopan distribution center is key to maintaining the figures this industry has seen in recent years.
