<p><span dir="auto">With an investment of $30.5 million, </span><a href="https://www.saam.com/"><span dir="auto">SAAM</span></a><span dir="auto"> , a company focused on towing services in America, announced the final closing of the transaction for the </span><strong><span dir="auto">purchase of the remaining 30% of Intertug&#8217;s companies</span></strong><span dir="auto"> operating in Colombia and Mexico.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">With the transaction, </span><strong><span dir="auto">the company achieved 100% ownership of these subsidiaries</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , representing a key step in SAAM&#8217;s growth strategy to 2030.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In a statement, SAAM recalled that this transaction had been announced in October 2025 and was completed after meeting the stipulated deadlines and obtaining the corresponding regulatory approvals.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">“With the closing of this transaction, we consolidate our leadership in the region. Our goal is </span><strong><span dir="auto">to expand our geographic presence under an efficient, flexible, and sustainable operating model</span></strong><span dir="auto"> that stands out for its excellence in an industry that is key to global trade,” highlighted Hernán Gómez, CEO of SAAM.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">SAAM acquired a stake in Intertug in 2021 with the initial purchase of 70%, marking its entry into the Colombian market and complementing its presence in Mexico.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Currently, through its </span><a href="https://www.saamtowage.com/mexico/?lang=es"><span dir="auto">SAAM Towage</span></a><span dir="auto"> division , the company operates one of the world&#8217;s largest towing networks, with </span><strong><span dir="auto">a fleet exceeding 200 tugboats</span></strong><span dir="auto"> distributed across more than 90 ports in the Americas.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Annually, these vessels carry out more than </span><strong><span dir="auto">155,000 tasks</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , providing critical support to various types of ships (container ships, tankers, bulk carriers, Ro-Ro and liquefied natural gas vessels), in addition to providing specialized services in </span><em><span dir="auto">offshore</span></em><span dir="auto"> exploration and in the development of natural gas terminals.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">SAAM Towage has been present in the Mexican market since 1997, where it operates in seven ports: Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán; Altamira and Tampico, in Tamaulipas; Tuxpan and Veracruz, in Veracruz; Dos Bocas, Tabasco ( </span><em><span dir="auto">Offshore</span></em><span dir="auto"> ); and Topolobampo, Sinaloa.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">In the country, the firm has more than 350 employees and offers port towing services, assistance services in terminals for the construction of structures and marine platforms, among other port services.</span></p>
