CMA CGM announced that it will launch a new service to connect the Far East with the West Coast of Mexico. The initiative includes stops in Ensenada, Manzanillo, and Lázaro Cárdenas.

The Mexico Express (M2X) service was specifically designed to “expedite” shipments and will have a rotation of Tianjin – Qingdao – Busan – Ensenada – Manzanillo – Lázaro Cárdenas – Yokohama – Busan – Tianjin.

“This initiative aligns with market dynamics in the region and reaffirms CMA CGM’s commitment to providing high-quality service and supporting the growth of its business,” the French shipping company stated. 

Specifically, the coverage will extend from northern China with a direct service to Qingdao and Tianjin, promising “competitive transit times,” according to a statement issued by the company.

The service aims to improve the connection of reefer cargo containers by “directly connecting refrigerated containers from the West Coast of Mexico and Central America with key markets in northern China and Japan.”

The service will operate on a weekly fixed-day cyclic route and will have a fleet of eight dedicated vessels. The inaugural departure will be handled by the container ship ANL Wangaratta, scheduled for May 11 from Busan, South Korea.
