<p>The first five months of the year <strong>represented a 1.9% decrease</strong> in passenger handling for the <a href="https://www.oma.aero/es/">North Center (OMA)</a> and <a href="https://www.aeropuertosgap.com.mx/es/">Pacific (GAP)</a> airport groups, while the <a href="https://www.asur.com.mx/">Southeast (ASUR)</a> achieved a <strong>slight increase of 0.6%</strong> compared to the same period last year.</p>
<p>According to their reports sent to the <a href="https://www.bmv.com.mx/es/Grupo_BMV">Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV)</a>, OMA mentioned that the decline stems from the impact of <strong>Hurricane Otis in Acapulco</strong>, which kept the airport terminal closed. During this period, passenger numbers decreased from 10,386,913 to 10,191,299 users, representing a 1.9% decrease year-on-year. The domestic market decreased by 3.7%, while the international market saw a performance increase of 10.6%.</p>

<p>In the case of GAP, the concessionaire of 12 airports in the country, there was a 1.9% decrease in passenger transportation, dropping from 26,218.7 passengers to 25,714.8 users.</p>

<p>The greatest impact was recorded at the national level,<strong> where GAP experienced a decrease of 6.7%</strong>, while internationally, there was a four percent increase.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, ASUR went from 18,220,179 to 18,332,807 passengers, a slight advancement of 0.6%. This was because domestic traffic fell by 5.3%; however, internationally, it rose by 5.3 percent.</p>
