In the talk AI to improve supply chain management , Alejandro Jiménez , account manager of the Enterprise division of Nvidia Mexico, said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already a reality to which the supply chain must adapt to accelerate the processes it entails.

Within the framework of Elevate Mexico 2024 , he highlighted that AI is the company’s “holy grail”, and that 70% of the firm’s revenue is focused on this technology and 30% on gaming .

Jiménez said that the company’s biggest investment is in Artificial Intelligence, although it also has other divisions such as hardware development.

Today, there is a turning point in generative AI , with which new content is produced from existing data, he stressed and commented that this tool is no longer in a bubble and is being developed in various media , such as text, audio and animation, among others.

The capacity that Artificial Intelligence has is impressive, he said, and in retail it has to be taken with greater personalization , which is why it is important to be a multimodal company, due to the competition in the market.

Alejandro Jiménez recalled the launch of ChatGPT as an innovative technology and highlighted the Picasso tool , which is a cloud service that allows the creation of visual applications with generative Artificial Intelligence through prompts or instructions.

He also highlighted the part of Nvidia Omniverse , which is a platform for developing applications for industrial digitalization and AI physical simulation.

In this regard, he recalled the case of the Lowe’s store , where all rack planning is done based on Artificial Intelligence, and the products offered are also better arranged in order to improve their logistics processes .

Regarding Nvidia’s reach, he highlighted that they have four million developers and work with more than 15 thousand startups , as well as companies that develop AI. In addition, he specified that they have more than 40 thousand clients in the world .

Such is the importance of developing this technology that Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn announced it will build a plant to assemble Nvidia’s GB200  superchips  in Jalisco.

Regarding this, the governor of the entity, Enrique Alfaro , reported on his X account, formerly Twitter, that “Foxconn, the largest superchip factory on the planet that already operates on our land, will build a new semiconductor plant here.”

Smart transportation in the supply chain

Alejandro Jose Phillips , senior vice president of Customer Success at MercuryGate , said that managing transportation properly can effectively help customers , minimize operations and have operational flexibility to improve the supply chain, which he called smart transportation .

To achieve these changes, he considered it necessary to have trained personnel , as well as a robust cybersecurity network.

In his participation, he highlighted the union with Körber , which, he said, gives them a unique and solid platform. He also indicated that they offer the border crossing service, with which they have automated the customs process to control the products that cross into the United States.

He assured that with this alliance, his clients have a whole network of solutions for last mile delivery.
