<p><span dir="auto">The internal process to renew the </span><strong><span dir="auto">national presidency</span></strong><span dir="auto"> of the </span><a href="https://canacar.com.mx/"><span dir="auto">National Chamber of Freight Transportation (Canacar)</span></a><span dir="auto"> has entered a new stage; with </span><strong><span dir="auto">Ramiro Montemayor García</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , </span><strong><span dir="auto">Rómulo Mejía Durán and Augusto Ramos</span></strong><span dir="auto"> as visible candidates, the transportation union is preparing to define the direction of its 2026-2027 National Board of Directors, amid calls for unity and collaboration.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In this context, Ramiro Montemayor, current vice president general of Canacar, formalized his </span><strong><span dir="auto">request for leave of absence from the position</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , with the purpose of participating in the internal process towards the national presidency of the organization for the period 2026-2027.</span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">He assured that the decision regarding a possible unity candidacy or the participation of three candidates will be made by the members of Canacar themselves.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">“If the members deem it appropriate to have three candidates, so be it; if they opt for a unity candidacy, we will also respect that,” he stressed.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">During a meeting with members of the organization, Montemayor stated that his decision was made thoughtfully with his family and collaborators, with the goal of building a slate that integrates the representation of all regions of the country.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">“I have decided to run for the national presidency of Canacar. I will dedicate myself full-time to assembling my team and personally reaching out to each of you to work together from this moment forward,” he stated.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">The request was received by Luis Roberto Lastiri, general director of Canacar, who reported that the document will be forwarded to the presidency and the National Board of Directors for analysis and </span><strong><span dir="auto">approval on November 12</span></strong><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In the letter, Montemayor expressed his intention to run for president and his commitment to maintaining the organization&#8217;s institutional integrity throughout the process.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">“It has been an honor to contribute to the Chamber’s objectives. I appreciate the trust you have placed in me by granting me this responsibility, which I have carried out with dignity and respect,” he stated in his letter.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">During the event, several </span><strong><span dir="auto">board members and executives</span></strong><span dir="auto"> expressed their support, highlighting his experience, work structure, and leadership within the organization. &#8220;Ramiro is the way forward,&#8221; several participants at the meeting agreed.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Montemayor explained that the electoral process anticipates the submission of slates until mid-January and the election of the new National Council on March 2, 2026, in accordance with the statutes of Canacar.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Finally, Montemayor reiterated his commitment to </span><strong><span dir="auto">continue the projects underway</span></strong><span dir="auto"> within the organization and to promote new support schemes for small businesses, especially in </span><strong><span dir="auto">fleet renewal and links with financial institutions</span></strong><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
