In response to the measure taken by the Cuautitlán government  in the State of Mexico to implement the Municipal Regulations for the Protection of the Human Right to Mobility , which restricts the movement of cargo transport vehicles in the district, efforts are continuing to improve the operation of these types of vehicles.

Miguel Ángel Martínez Millán, president of the National Chamber of Cargo Transportation (Canacar) shared through his X account that a meeting was held with the municipal government headed by Juana Carrillo, with the objective of “building joint solutions” that would grant greater viability to urban mobility, but without affecting the efficiency of the supply chains that depend on cargo transportation to guarantee the supply of products and services.

Among the agreements reached and shared by the president of Canacar are:

• Delay the entry into force of the regulations until September 23, allowing more time for proper dissemination.
• Ensure that no monetary penalties are imposed by traffic authorities during this process.
• Establish as a pilot test the non-circulation of freight transport from 7:00 to 9:00 am
• Implement a joint awareness and outreach campaign between municipal authorities and Canacar, aimed at freight truckers and the community in general.

Following this meeting, Miguel Ángel Martínez stated that the chamber he presides over would support proposals and efforts that contribute to safe, orderly, and sustainable mobility , while also promoting local and regional economic development.

As previously announced, the measures implemented by the Cuautitlán government are aimed at ensuring that trucking companies and distribution centers (CEDIs) in the area are held accountable for damage to infrastructure, in addition to preventing traffic conflicts caused by vehicles parked in double or triple parking.
