<p><span dir="auto">The Mexican medical device industry ended 2025 with a value of around </span><strong><span dir="auto">eight billion 354 million dollars (mdd)</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , according to projections from the </span><a href="https://amid.org.mx/"><span dir="auto">Mexican Association of Innovative Medical Device Industries (AMID)</span></a><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In that context, the </span><a href="https://www.gob.mx/se"><span dir="auto">Ministry of Economy (SE)</span></a><span dir="auto"> participated, along with the governments of Baja California and Chihuahua, in MD&amp;M West, which took place from February 3 to 5, in California, United States, which is one of the most relevant events for the medical device industry.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">The coordination between the Mexican government and the governments of Baja California and Chihuahua, national leaders in the manufacture of medical devices, advanced electronics and high-value industrial capabilities, seeks </span><strong><span dir="auto">to accelerate investments</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , production chains, supplier development and technology transfer, the SE said in a statement.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">At the event, the federal agency explained, meetings were held with companies from high-technology segments, to whom a tailor-made attraction package was presented, within the framework of the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Mexico Plan</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , aimed at facilitating their investment and productive relocation in the country.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">This package includes </span><strong><span dir="auto">talent development and training</span></strong><span dir="auto"> mechanisms , dual training schemes, incentives for productive investment, tax facilities, regulatory support and support for integration into </span><strong><span dir="auto">local supply chains</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , with the aim of accelerating investment decisions, strengthening national content and consolidating high value-added operations in Mexico.</span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">The meetings were held with representatives from the </span><strong><span dir="auto">medical sensor and microcamera segments for endoscopy</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , robotic surgery and single-use devices, with applications in pulmonology, urology, orthopedics and advanced surgical systems.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Also with </span><strong><span dir="auto">manufacturing, sterilization and assembly of medical devices</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , with experience in regulated production, process validation and industrial scaling, as well as advanced electronics, with complete integration from design and acquisition of components to manufacturing, logistics and after-sales, and a productive presence in Mexico.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Additionally, it includes the segments of </span><strong><span dir="auto">medical-grade silicone components</span></strong><span dir="auto"> ; design, engineering and health regulation; and automation, robotics and smart manufacturing systems.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In the meetings, the Ministry of Economy highlighted that Mexico offers regulatory certainty, industrial capacity, specialized talent, and preferential access to the North American market.</span></p>

<p><strong><span dir="auto">Seminars on attracting investment and promoting development hubs were</span></strong><span dir="auto"> also held for potential investors, business organizations, and local authorities in Orange County with the participation of the Mexican consul in Santa Ana, Maxaira Baltazar, and in Los Angeles with the Mexican consul general in Los Angeles, Carlos González Gutiérrez.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">According to AMID data, Mexico is the leading exporter of medical devices in Latin America and the sixth worldwide; while 96.7% of medical devices manufactured in the country are sent to the United States.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">According to AMID, the main proposals from the industry for the review of the </span><strong><span dir="auto">United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA)</span></strong><span dir="auto"> are aimed at simplifying regulations and customs processes, establishing clear rules of origin, taking advantage of </span><em><span dir="auto">nearshoring</span></em><span dir="auto"> opportunities , and promoting innovation and transparency in public procurement.</span></p>
