<p><a href="https://www.apmterminals.com/en/mexico"><span>APM Terminals México</span></a><span> , the specialized container terminal unit of </span><a href="https://www.maersk.com/"><span>A.P. Moller-Maersk</span></a><span> , signed a memorandum of understanding with the </span><a href="https://www.gob.mx/puertosymarinamercante"><span>General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine (CGPMM)</span></a><span> , to </span><strong><span>support the professional development of students from the Merchant Nautical Schools</span></strong><span> of Tampico, Veracruz and Mazatlán of the </span><a href="https://www.fidena.gob.mx/"><span>Maritime Port University of Mexico</span></a><span> .</span></p>
<p><span>The Dutch company, led in Mexico by Beatriz Yera, will establish an </span><strong><span>internship program</span></strong><span> so that students can apply their knowledge in real-world work environments and in a highly technological terminal such as the specialized terminal at the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas.</span></p>
<p><span>From 2021 to 2023 alone, almost <strong>800 students have graduated from the three Merchant Nautical Schools of the </strong></span><a href="https://www.gob.mx/semar"><span>Navy Secretariat</span></a><span> .</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;This is an example of the joint effort between the public and private sectors with the vision of strengthening the Mexican maritime sector and consolidating the country as a benchmark in port logistics with highly qualified personnel,&#8221; APM Terminals Mexico said in a statement.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><a href="https://www.apmterminals.com/es/lazaro-cardenas"><span>APM Terminals&#8217; Lázaro Cárdenas</span></a><span> terminal took a momentous step in global maritime trade with </span><strong><span>the inauguration of Operation Gemini Cooperation</span></strong><span> in March of this year, featuring an innovative Simultaneous Transshipment Connection never before seen in the world.</span></p>
<p><span>This innovative double-handling model represents a milestone in port logistics, enabling the </span><strong><span>transfer of containers between vessels</span></strong><span> , optimizing time, costs, and operational efficiency.</span></p>
<p><span>APM Terminals is in the process of </span><strong><span>the second phase of expansion</span></strong><span> of its terminal in Lázaro Cárdenas.</span></p>
<p><span>This project, which began in September 2023 with an investment of more than $150 million, seeks to </span><strong><span>increase operational capacity</span></strong><span> and improve infrastructure with new cranes and specialized equipment.</span></p>
