Mazatlán Maritime Terminal (TMAZ) , the port of Hanseatic Global Terminals , reached a new operational milestone by receiving an oversized steel load destined for the national electricity sector .

During the service of the ML FRAGATA ship, coming from China, 173 megastructures for wind towers were unloaded, weighing more than 1,000 tons , including assembly parts weighing more than 36 tons each.

“The successful reception of this oversized cargo confirms our operational and infrastructure capacity, as well as our commitment to being a terminal prepared for national projects. The service was carried out with precautionary measures and safety, quality cargo care, and good productivity rates,” said Francisco Quintana Schnettler, Director of Operations at TMAZ.

The maneuver represented a technical and logistical challenge due to the size and weight of the cargo. Special planning was implemented prior to the ship’s arrival, as well as shift-by-shift rescheduling, with the participation of a multidisciplinary team.

Among the resources used for the maneuvers were MHC and Nave mobile cranes with special attachments for handling loads, adapted Reach Stackers with special attachments, and forklifts. The maneuvering and storage area covered more than 5,500 square meters (m²) .

In the first half of 2025, TMAZ reported growth in its cargo throughput, registering a 15% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This progress was driven primarily by the dynamic handling of containers and loose cargo, particularly steel and project cargo.
