<p><span>Last March, there was a </span><strong><span>3.1%</span></strong><span> increase in thefts reported across the Mexican Railway System (SFM) compared to the same period last year, the </span><a href="https://www.gob.mx/artf"><span>Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF)</span></a><span> reported , with corn, batteries, and accessories being the most frequently stolen items.</span></p>
<p><span>According to the report </span><em><span>Pulse of the Mexican Railway System-Security March 2025,</span></em><span> the agency detailed that in the third month of the year </span><strong><span>388 cases occurred compared to 376 in the same period of 2024</span></strong><span> .</span></p>
<p><span>He indicated that corn, within the grains, seeds, and their derivatives subgroup, accounted for 55.22% of the total; batteries, which are part of consumer goods, represented 36.36%; and accessories, included in industrial products, 63.77%.</span></p>

<p><span>In this regard, the merchandise subgroups reported the following incidents:</span></p>
<ol>
<li><span>Other industrial products with 18.35 percent.</span></li>
<li><span>Grains, seeds and their derivatives with 17.82 percent.</span></li>
<li><span>Consumer goods with 14.63 percent.</span></li>
</ol>
<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;These three subgroups together represent 50.80% of the total number of theft incident reports,&#8221; the agency emphasized in the document.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span>According to the ARTF, the states with the highest number of railroad robbery reports during that period were:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Coahuila with 92.</span></li>
<li><span>Guanajuato with 50.</span></li>
<li><span>Aguascalientes with 52.</span></li>
<li><span>Jalisco with 25.</span></li>
</ul>
