Viva Aerobus will fly from Mérida airport to Orlando and Miami starting next July, while to Tijuana in November and to Los Angeles , seasonally, between December of this year and January 2025.

“At Viva we continue to bet on Mérida. We know that it is a city with great potential, like all of Yucatan, and we want to collaborate in its development through strengthened national and international connectivity,” commented Walfred Castro Novelo, director of Corporate Communication of the airline.

Mérida is one of Viva’s operational bases, where it maintains a weekly average of 100 arrival flights to Yucatán, which imply 19,860 available seats. With these new routes, four flights and 720 weekly seats are added.

In a statement, he explained that with the incorporation of a third aircraft to this base this year, two million seats will be offered from said destination, an increase of 150% since the opening of the base in 2022.

“We are very happy to continue strengthening connectivity and that the arrival of the Viva operations hub continues to bear fruit and continues to be so successful since it began two years ago. They have opened important routes such as Miami and Orlando that are about to begin, as well as Tijuana and Los Angeles that will soon begin operations. This speaks of the expansion of Viva in an important way following its arrival as a hub at the Mérida International Airport,” said Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Secretary of Tourism of Yucatán.

Likewise, it announced a new seasonal route to Los Angeles, which will be operating from December 18 of this year until January 8, 2025 and will have a weekly frequency on Wednesdays, facilitating tourism during the high season. vacation.

Likewise, to Tijuana starting next November 3 , this flight will have express stops in León on the way out and in Monterrey on the way back, where the planes will land briefly to refuel without passengers having to get off the aircraft.

With routes to Orlando and Miami, Viva already operates 16 routes to and from Mérida such as the International Airports of Mexico City (AICM) , Felipe Ángeles (AIFA), Guadalajara, León, Monterrey, Puebla, Querétaro, Toluca, Tuxtla Gutiérrez , Veracruz, Villahermosa and Havana in Cuba, as well as the routes to Tijuana and Los Angeles that will open this year.
