At its annual Vision 26 event, Motive unveiled a new generation of solutions powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and integrated hardware , focused on solving two of the main challenges of physical operations: tool fragmentation and the burden of manual tasks.

During the meeting, the company unveiled new capabilities geared towards fleets and operational teams, with the aim of automating processes, improving safety and increasing productivity through a unified platform.

“All the operations leaders we spoke with had two problems in common: their systems were too fragmented, and their workflows included too many manual tasks. The solution lies in integration and automation,” said Shoaib Makani, CEO and co-founder of Motive.

He added that Motive has been dedicated to eliminating data silos, so “now we focus on helping our customers leverage AI to gain critical insights and automate interventions so they can operate more securely and productively . ”

The company highlighted that the new solutions allow data to be consolidated into a single view and complex workflows to be automated using AI, reducing manual intervention in critical processes.

AI Omnicam Plus: AI-powered 360° vision

One of the main announcements was IA Omnicam Plus , a new 360° camera system for commercial vehicles. The solution integrates the IA Dashcam Plus platform and the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6490 processor, allowing it to run more than 30 AI models simultaneously.

The system offers real-time monitoring from multiple angles and generates automatic alerts to detect risks such as pedestrians, cyclists, or other vehicles, helping to prevent incidents before they occur .

AI Dashcam Plus expands prevention capabilities

Motive also announced new features for AI Dashcam Plus , its AI-powered dashcam designed to detect unsafe behavior and issue instant alerts to operators.

Digital transformation has moved beyond futuristic discussions to become an urgent necessity in logistics. Based on this premise, KLog held its first Logtech Day in Mexico , an event that brought together specialists, clients, startups , and supply chain leaders to discuss how technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and real-time visibility are redefining the movement of goods .

The event, celebrating its seventh edition and choosing Mexico as its new regional venue, brought together more than 350 attendees from countries including Brazil, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico. The company presented its vision for the future of logistics, characterized by automation, digital financing, technological integration, and greater collaboration between humans and intelligent systems .

During the opening, Janan Knust, founder and CEO of KLog, highlighted that the logistics industry has ceased to be “the backyard” of businesses to become a strategic player within the global economy.

“It is beautiful to see so many people gathered from different areas with one purpose: to find in logistics an opportunity to shine,” he expressed to the attendees.

The executive acknowledged some initial nervousness about bringing the event to Mexico for the first time, but asserted that the industry’s response exceeded expectations. The meeting also served to reinforce Mexico’s position as one of the company’s priority markets for expansion in Latin America.

Through conferences, panels, and conversations with customers and specialists, KLog showed how logistics is going through a new stage in which digitalization is no longer a promise, but an operational standard.

The company highlighted advances such as the automation of thousands of operations, the expansion of financial services for logistics companies, the strengthening of traceability tools, and technological integration with different systems in the transport and foreign trade ecosystem.

For Gabriel Gurovich, CPO of KLog, the Logtech Day concept represents the future of the industry.

“The main thing we need to understand is that Logtech isn’t something KLog invented. Logtech is the future of this industry; it’s about making the supply chain user-friendly, something that gives you visibility and explains how to move cargo around the world,” he said.

The executive stated that the sector will experience accelerated changes in the next 18 to 24 months, driven by artificial intelligence tools, automation, and data analytics.

Visibility, AI and data: the new competitive differentiator

One of the central themes of Logtech Day was the need to evolve from reactive supply chains to predictive and connected models .

In various panels, participants from technology companies and users agreed that real-time visibility has ceased to be a ” nice to have ” and has become an operational requirement, especially after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and in anticipation of future events such as the 2026 World Cup.

Experts noted that many companies still face problems stemming from manual processes, excessive email, a lack of platform integration, and poor data quality. In contrast, companies that manage to centralize information and automate decisions will be able to react more quickly to delays, route changes, or operational contingencies.

The growing role of generative AI in business processes, customer service, document automation, and logistics decision-making was also addressed.

During one of the conversations, representatives of the technology ecosystem agreed that the real challenge will no longer be solely developing technology, but ensuring that companies know how to implement and take advantage of it correctly.

“There is a lot of technology available, but the difference will be in how capable we are of generating solutions that really help customers make better decisions,” it was mentioned during the event.

Technology with purpose

Beyond digitalization, the event also had a focus on organizational culture and business purpose.

KLog took advantage of the meeting to present “AFIRE” , a book that summarizes the company’s corporate culture based on five pillars: attitude, focus, discomfort, resilience and study .

During the presentation, Janan Knust asserted that business growth must be accompanied by a human and social purpose .

“Measuring success by how much we give and not by how much we have would completely change the way business is done,” he commented.

The conversation revolved around building purpose-driven companies, capable of combining technological innovation with human development and organizational culture.

Mexico, a strategic market for technological logistics

The Logtech Day event in Mexico comes at a key moment for the national logistics industry, marked by phenomena such as nearshoring , the growth of e-commerce, and the pressure to build more resilient and digitized supply chains.

At various points during the event, panelists highlighted that Mexico faces major challenges in infrastructure , congestion, and operational fragmentation, but also enormous opportunities to accelerate technological adoption.

“The future will belong to the companies that manage to connect all the scattered logistics information and turn it into smart decisions,” they said.

With this first edition in the country, KLog seeks to position Logtech Day as an annual space to promote conversations about innovation, automation and digital transformation within the Mexican and Latin American logistics ecosystem.

The Asia-Pacific region generates approximately 60% of the world’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions , which represents a challenge for the 21 economies that make up the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum , in a global context marked by climate urgency and the reconfiguration of supply chains, where more sustainable logistics are even being promoted to minimize environmental risks.

This was stated by Francisco Suárez Hernández, chair of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Mexico, who emphasized that ABAC promotes an agenda that articulates several key areas, including sustainable manufacturing, product design, the circular economy, renewable energy, and supply chain optimization . This comprehensive approach recognizes that decarbonization does not depend on a single link, but rather on the coordination of the entire logistics network.

In this transition, technology plays a crucial role. Artificial intelligence (AI) -based tools enable route optimization, reduced energy consumption, and improved logistics planning. This comprehensive approach also involves investing in commercial and logistical infrastructure.

In a sector where 20% of emissions come from transportation – with an average annual growth rate of 1.7% over the last three decades, according to data from the International Energy Agency – Suárez indicated that there is a group working hand in hand with ABAC and APEC on transportation related to Zero Cargo Transportation , where there is a commitment to accelerate the establishment of a greener free trade framework “to ensure a more stable, resilient supply chain.”

In this context, Mexico has strategic advantages. Its geographic location, proximity to North America, and its potential in renewable energy—particularly solar and wind—position it as a key player in becoming a sustainable logistics hub and an attractive destination for investments linked to the digital economy .

“It’s important that all technology and AI companies that have emissions reduction commitments see us as a green zone for investment. That’s why I think a sustainable digital economy could be an interesting concept, one that supports AI across all sectors and the entire supply chain to lower emissions, where transportation and AI will play a very important role in making programming much smarter, in how you can optimize money and time throughout your entire supply chain,” he emphasized.

Fleet renewal is presented as part of the solutions. Some companies have begun transitioning to electromobility in freight transport, even, Suárez specified, with tractor-trailers manufactured in Mexico, which, in addition to an innovative design, have intelligent and preventative technology, as well as features to reduce emissions. This is important in a country where fleets have an average age of 19 years, according to the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor-Trailer Manufacturers (ANPACT) , which reinforces the need to accelerate their renewal and modernization, he noted.

However, the path to sustainable logistics also involves regulatory challenges. The need for clear, consistent regulatory frameworks that keep pace with the speed of technological innovation is one of the sector’s main demands.

In this regard, ABAC has outlined a set of priority actions aimed at revitalizing growth and strengthening the foundations of regional economic cooperation. These include investment in trade and logistics infrastructure , and reducing barriers to maritime and air transport, including expanding regional connectivity and access to secondary cities to support mobility, trade, and investment. Furthermore, ABAC seeks to strengthen the connectivity and resilience of supply chains by addressing vulnerabilities, ensuring responsible mineral sourcing, facilitating legitimate trade, and enhancing transparency and sustainability.

Circular economy, an opportunity to generate value

In the realm of the circular economy, the approach shifts paradigm: waste becomes input, and business models evolve toward reuse, recycling, and redesign schemes. More than a cost, Suárez emphasized, this represents an opportunity, a long-term investment to generate economic, social, and environmental value .

The director of Public Affairs and Strategic Relations at Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA) also considered that collaboration between the public and private sectors can coexist in this area.

“The important thing to emphasize here is that ABAC represents the private sector and APEC the public sector. Therefore, APEC is doing work on connectivity and mapping all the trends and opportunities in emerging markets,” he stated.

The goal of this joint effort is to reduce emissions and make supply chains more efficient , which translates into a window of opportunity for the Asia-Pacific region.

Looking ahead to 2028, when Mexico will host APEC, the country has the opportunity to solidify its position as a global leader in sustainable logistics innovation. Building this “green bridge” involves not only infrastructure and technology, but also a profound transformation in how supply chains are currently conceived.

Logistics has gone from being a poorly understood concept within companies to becoming one of the strategic pillars of global competitiveness, according to Arturo Frías, a consultant and specialist in the sector, who considered that the evolution of the discipline has been “infinite”, driven by technological changes, global disruptions and a growing understanding of its financial impact on businesses.

Frías recalled that when he started his career in logistics, this word wasn’t even a common term within companies.

“More than 40 years ago, the word logistics was practically not used. Some even confused it with logic. Today we know that it is the management of the physical flow of products or services to comply with the principle of the ‘five rights’: the right product, in the right place, in the right quantity, at the right time and at the right cost,” he explained.

Over the decades, various sectors have set the pace of logistics innovation , although the automotive industry has been one of the main catalysts. According to Frías, this industry pioneered the integration of external logistics operators and schemes such as direct supply to production lines, or line feeding . It also promoted more complex supplier management models.

“Automakers began integrating logistics into third-party operations more than 30 years ago. Specialized companies started handling warehousing, transportation, and supplier management,” he noted.

This model later spread to other industries such as consumer goods, electronics, and pharmaceuticals. While the evolution of logistics has been constant, Frías identified the COVID-19 pandemic as the moment that accelerated the sector’s transformation.

Disruptions in global supply chains, port closures, and increased transportation costs forced companies to rethink their sourcing strategy.

“The model of manufacturing in the cheapest location ceased to be sufficient when shipping containers began to cost up to $60,000 and delivery times multiplied,” he explained.

In this context, nearshoring (relocation of production lines) , the growth of e-commerce, and the greater strategic value placed on logistics within companies became key factors for its recent evolution.

Artificial intelligence and automation

Another decisive change has been the adoption of advanced technology in logistics operations . Warehouse management systems, robotics, and predictive models based on artificial intelligence (AI) have transformed the planning and execution of supply chains.

“Today you can integrate factors such as weather, mobility, or customer behavior into a planning model. This allows you to move from forecasts with 70% accuracy to levels close to 95%,” he explained.

Automation is also changing operations in distribution centers, where robotization and process digitization are becoming increasingly common. However, he cautioned that technology alone is not enough.

“Before implementing artificial intelligence or logistics software , companies need to review and improve their processes. If you automate inefficient processes, you’ll only get more errors,” he pointed out.

Launch of their marketplace

In this context, Frías recently launched a marketplace specializing in logistics , arturofrias.shop , a platform that seeks to concentrate content, training and services related to the sector.

The specialist explained that the initiative arose after identifying a gap in logistics training, especially among young professionals and small businesses seeking practical tools to improve their operations. Although corporate training has grown significantly in Mexico over the past few decades, he believes there is still a need for accessible materials focused on practical application.

“Logistics doesn’t have to be elitist; it has to be accessible to everyone. The more people who are starting out in the sector are reached, the faster they can learn and apply concepts that will help them improve their operations,” he said.

The platform integrates various resources developed throughout his professional career, including specialized books, video tips on logistics strategies, and digital training programs with animations aimed at operational and administrative staff.

In addition, the marketplace also seeks to connect other services related to the sector, such as consulting, specialized recruitment, and artificial intelligence-based solutions for logistics management.

According to Frías, the goal is to broaden access to logistics knowledge and at the same time create a meeting point for companies seeking to improve their processes in an increasingly digital environment.

A future with two possible scenarios

Looking ahead to the next decade, Frías envisions two possible scenarios for Mexican logistics. The first would involve greater coordination between companies, associations, and the government to develop infrastructure and take advantage of nearshoring .

The second, less optimistic, scenario would be that the country continues to lose positions in international logistics rankings .

“We have the location, the market, and the talent. The question is whether we can work together to turn those advantages into a true logistics platform,” he emphasized.

Women’s leadership in logistics is progressing, although it still faces representation gaps, stereotypes and cultural challenges in a sector historically dominated by men, as pointed out by specialists during the webinar Women’s Leadership in Logistics , organized by #SoyLogístico Association .

During the meeting, the panelists shared experiences about their professional careers, the challenges women face in the industry , and the skills needed to lead increasingly complex supply chains.

Fabiola Rincón , Perform & Transform Operations at Danone Mexico , contextualized the discussion with figures on the presence of women in executive positions. According to data cited during the webinar , only 8% of Chief Operating Officer (COO) positions in the leading companies of the S&P 500 Index are held by women , while in Latin America the figure reaches 29 %.

These statistics reflect that, although there has been progress, female participation at the highest levels of leadership remains limited.

The moderator emphasized that diversity in management teams is not only a matter of fairness, but also of organizational performance. Studies show that diverse teams tend to improve the quality of decisions, strengthen corporate governance, and contribute to sustainability goals , including those related to gender equality.

The panelists agreed that many careers in logistics begin unexpectedly.

Brenda Hernández , Senior Director of Logistics for Latin America at Mattel , recounted that her interest arose while she was studying international trade during the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) era . After exploring different areas, from customs to the sale of logistics services, she found logistics to be a dynamic field where every day involves solving new challenges.

“For me, logistics is about solving a challenge every day with different circumstances,” he said.

In contrast, Karina Arenas , Supply Chain Planning & Execution Director at Schneider Electric , came to the sector by chance. Trained in industrial design, she began her career in manufacturing at Procter & Gamble and, almost two decades later, discovered that the supply chain was the space where she could apply skills in analysis, process design, and customer focus.

“A well-designed supply chain connects all the players in the business. Often, you don’t notice when it’s working well, but the day it’s not there, everyone notices,” he commented.

Laura Galdeano , Primary Logistics Manager at C&P in the Danone Group, explained that her connection to logistics has family roots. Although she initially focused on purchasing, today she recognizes the strategic role that logistics plays in the consumer experience, financial performance, and sustainability goals of companies.

One of the recurring themes was the importance of authenticity in environments where historically masculine leadership styles have predominated .

Hernández recalled that, at the beginning of her career, she tried to replicate behaviors she observed in other leaders, but discovered that doing so distanced her from her own way of working.

“When I decided to be myself and stop trying to fit into a mold, I felt free and was able to strengthen my own skills,” she explained.

Arenas emphasized that the lack of female role models has been one of the most significant barriers in the industry. Without visible role models, many women feel they must adopt leadership styles that don’t necessarily reflect their strengths. Therefore, she believes that spaces like this webinar are important for showcasing diverse career paths and demonstrating that there are multiple ways to lead.

Human skills become more important

The participants also highlighted that, in an environment marked by digitalization and the advancement of artificial intelligence, human skills acquire greater value.

Among the key skills they mentioned were strategic communication , to give visibility to one’s own and the team’s work ; networking , fundamental in a discipline that connects multiple actors in the supply chain ; in-depth knowledge of the operation , even at management levels ; and resilience and tolerance for frustration , indispensable in a sector characterized by uncertainty.

Arenas emphasized that learning to communicate achievements and results is especially important.

“No one is going to come and ask you what you did right. You have to learn to communicate the value you are generating,” he said.

Logistics: From Operational Function to Strategic Role

Another point of agreement was the evolution of logistics within organizations.

Brenda Hernández pointed out that the function has gone from being primarily operational to becoming a strategic area that influences decisions about plant location, sustainability, costs and taxes.

“Logistics is taking on a much more proactive role within organizations,” he stated.

In the coming years, the panelists anticipate that the industry will be marked by trends such as the automation and digitization of processes , greater visibility of real-time data, integration of planning and optimization technologies; and sustainability as the central focus of the business.

On this last point, Karina Arenas highlighted that sustainability will cease to be a differentiator and will become a requirement for operational continuity.

The panelists agreed that logistics offers broad career opportunities for new generations. The supply chain allows for the development of financial, commercial, technological, and leadership skills, as well as providing a comprehensive view of the business.

“It’s a career where no two days are ever the same,” Arenas emphasized.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has moved beyond a futuristic concept to become a tangible tool in logistics operations. However, experts agree that the biggest challenge is not technological, but cultural and strategic.

In the panel “Generative Artificial Intelligence and Logistics ,” organized by the National Council of Executives in Logistics and Supply Chain (ConaLog) , Felipe Ordóñez, CEO of Promologistics , opened the conversation by highlighting that many companies already use AI in their daily lives, but have not yet managed to bring it to business processes.

In this context, Antonio Rivero, CEO of e-Kontrol , pointed out that the most common mistake is implementing artificial intelligence because it’s trendy rather than necessary . He explained that the starting point should be identifying operational constraints, repetitive processes, and areas where frequent errors occur. He also emphasized that data quality is fundamental.

“The tool will give you results based on the information you provide,” he emphasized.

For Gustavo Equihua, CIO of Frialsa , the first step is to break down mental barriers within organizations. He indicated that many executives still feel resistance or even embarrassment when using AI tools, when in reality they should see it as an assistant that enhances analytical capabilities.

“You won’t stop thinking; artificial intelligence is like a coach that helps you reflect and find solutions faster,” he said.

The panelists agreed that the biggest obstacle to implementing AI is not the model, but the quality of the information.

Gustavo Equihua explained that even with a data lake (data storage in one place), the problem usually originates from the data capture.

“If the input is incorrect, the result will also be incorrect. The ‘garbage in, garbage out’ principle still applies,” he said.

From a business perspective, Carlos Guerra, commercial director of IGSA Medical, emphasized that the key to securing funding is translating artificial intelligence into tangible results. To convince senior management, he recommended demonstrating current losses that AI can prevent, measuring improvements in time and processes, and showcasing clear economic benefits.

“When you speak in financial terms, you capture the attention of decision-makers,” he explained.

Will AI replace jobs?

One of the most debated topics was the impact on employment. Antonio Rivero pointed out that the real risk is not losing jobs, but falling behind in skills.

“The difference will be between the professional who uses artificial intelligence and the one who doesn’t. The former will displace the latter,” he stated.

In that sense, the panelists agreed that companies must promote training and cultural change to take advantage of this technology.

Paradoxically, some studies show that AI does not reduce the workload, but rather increases productivity and the level of demand.

In an interview, the executive highlighted that more than 80% of goods in Mexico are moved by tractor-trailer , which makes logistics a pillar of economic development, but also one of the industries most exposed to error.

“It’s an unforgiving industry. The margin is so low that any operational failure directly impacts profitability,” he explained.

Based on his experience, Cardini argued that logistics is one of the sectors with the greatest potential to leverage AI in Latin America.

“Logistics is operationally intensive; there’s always something happening, often outside of working hours. Technology not only improves efficiency but also reduces human effort,” he noted.

Among the main use cases that Konfront has implemented are the digitization of operational processes , the tracking of units via GPS from the operator’s phone , the automation of the Waybill , as well as the optimization of routes and return loads , one of the major profitability problems of transport in Mexico.

“Many trucks return empty. With digital platforms, we can connect carriers with shippers who need to move cargo back, which improves asset utilization and reduces costs,” he emphasized.

Beyond basic digitization, AI allows logistics companies to anticipate critical problems . Cardini highlighted predictive models that detect route deviations in real time, which can be an early indicator of an attempted robbery.

“If a truck deviates from its planned route by more than five minutes in certain areas, it’s usually a sign of risk. With advanced analytics, we can generate immediate alerts and even intervene to prevent the incident,” he explained.

Other key benefits of using AI include dynamic routing , connected with tools like Waze or Google Maps ; more accurate delivery estimates , with predictive models ; automated customer service , through AI agents that respond in minutes and increase the conversion rate ; and automatic validation of documents and merchandise , reducing human errors and tax risks.

“An Artificial Intelligence agent can do the work of dozens of people on repetitive tasks, allowing human talent to focus on higher value activities,” he said.

Despite these advantages, technological adoption remains limited, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises. In Mexico, there are approximately 185,000 logistics companies , many of which still manage their operations using Excel.

“The level of digital maturity in Mexico is far behind what we see in the United States or Europe. Companies that don’t build a solid technological core in the next five to ten years are going to disappear,” Cardini warned.

This core, he explained, is not just about using chatbots , but about integrating data, operating systems, billing, CRM and cybersecurity into a single infrastructure , capable of supporting fast and scalable decisions.

Looking ahead, the executive identified three major trends in logistics:

Internal hyperconnectivity of all systems.

Differentiating technological capabilities , focused on customer experience.

Tools to make the operation profitable , such as predictive models of routes and loads.

“Companies that manage to integrate these three layers will be the ones that capture the largest market share,” he said.

Becerra emphasized that 2025 was driven by key implementations with clients such as San Pablo Farmacia , Bachoco , and companies in the automotive sector, among others. These organizations, he said, are pursuing three main objectives in their digital evolution: greater operational efficiency through process optimization and cost reduction ; a next-generation technology foundation , where modernization ceases to be a limitation and becomes an enabler of growth ; and comprehensive business transformation , guided by best practices from more than 25 industries that SAP serves globally.

He noted that technology is a key driver, but emphasized that the human component remains crucial.

“Transformation involves changing processes, culture, and the status quo, and that remains one of the country’s biggest challenges,” he commented.

Looking ahead to 2026, SAP Mexico will maintain a strong commitment to solidifying its position as the leading technology partner in enterprise applications, data, and artificial intelligence . The goal, the company stated, is for each client to be able to capture the true value of innovation by implementing it in concrete business processes.

“We want technology to stop being seen as a problem of obsolescence and become an engine for continued growth,” Becerra emphasized.

He concluded that SAP Mexico will continue to promote transformation stories that strengthen the competitiveness of companies and, with it, the development of the country.

In 3Q25, Traxión announced that its consolidated results reached eight billion 623 million pesos (mdd), which translated into an increase of 14.5% compared to the same period in 2024, according to the report sent to the investment community.

“It’s important to mention that the integration of Solistica into our platform is 100% complete, and that our 100-day post-acquisition plan was successfully concluded, reinforcing operational and financial continuity, as well as the retention of talent and key customers,” Aby Lijtszain, co-founder and CEO of Traxión, told investors.

Meanwhile, growth is based, according to Lijtszain, “mainly due to a 51.1% increase in revenues from the logistics and technology segment , which were mostly driven by the integration of Solistica and which represented more than 45% of consolidated revenues, in line with the plan to grow our asset-light businesses .”

In contrast to the “Logistics and Technology” division’s reporting, the “Freight Mobility” division saw a 14.7% contraction compared to 3Q24, “mainly due to a temporary reduction in demand levels, particularly import and export volumes, from clients operating in sectors that have been affected by tariff uncertainty, with the most visible effects in the automotive and steel industries,” Traxión’s quarterly report states.
