In recent years, transporters have had to evolve at a rapid pace due to increasing demands from their customers and authorities. While some companies are continuously seeking better practices to streamline their processes through technology adoption, for others, progress has not been as swift, and technological adoption is more of a hindrance than an accelerator.

With this principle in mind, Lis Software Solutions has developed technology solutions for transportation capable of catering to carriers of all sizes, from single-truck operators to large enterprises.

“Not long ago, some transporters were accustomed to issuing paper invoices, then we transitioned to Excel formats, but now they are required to comply in a more systematic and formal manner; in response, we believe it’s necessary to have user-friendly tools to help transporters navigate these changes and continue operating more efficiently,” shared Omar López Mercado, commercial director of Lis Software Solutions, in an interview with T21.

In this regard, to help facilitate the management of the entire operation of a medium-sized transport company and even address the needs of single-truck operators, the company developed LISTMS, which currently manages eight thousand units.

“We are working on improvements to launch a new version called LIS Invoice, which is a billing system for freight transportation that includes invoice issuance, Carta Porte Complement (CCP), and administration, among other features. This is a simple solution so that small transportation business owners can meet the requirements set by the Tax Administration Service (SAT),” explained the spokesperson for Lis Software Solutions.

López emphasized that one of the goals of LIS Invoice is to support transporters in complying with the legal standards, to gradually move towards professionalism and thus grow in the market.

One notable feature of the system is its adaptability to the needs of transporters. For example, it can calculate operator wages, fuel efficiency, expense control, trip verification, and payments, communication with the cargo owner and operator, access to real-time indicators, among others.

“The limit of this technology is set by the transporter depending on the company’s objectives,” López pointed out.

Another functionality that the software company has developed is LIS Workshop, a tool aimed at fleet maintenance management that provides visibility of preventive and corrective services, inventory control of spare parts, costs, repair times, location and duration of maintenance and/or repairs, López Mercado detailed that this tool allows for more effective expense control.
