From January to November 2025, air cargo movement in Mexico decreased by 3.2% compared to the same period in 2024, going from 1,160,037.7 tons to 1,122,434.1 tons, according to statistics from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) .

The agency specified that, of the 10 main airports handling cargo in the country, eight reported declines . Toluca registered a drop of 21.6%, Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) saw a decrease of 10.8%, and Monterrey experienced a 5.1% year-over-year decrease.

Conversely, Mexico City International Airport (AICM) and Guadalajara International Airport, belonging to the Pacific Airport Group (GAP) , increased cargo movement by 5.7% and 4.6% , respectively, year over year.

AFAC reported that in the first 11 months of 2025, AIFA had a market share of 32.8%, followed by AICM with 20.5%, Guadalajara with 14.9%, Monterrey and Querétaro with 6.2% each.

Meanwhile, domestic cargo from January to November of last year was 351,093.1 tons , a decrease of 2.2% compared to the same period in 2024, when 359,135.1 tons were transported.

Regarding international cargo, the agency also reported a decrease of 3.7% , as it went from 800,902.6 tons in the first 11 months of 2024 to 771,341 tons in the same period of 2025.

From January to October 2025, air cargo in Mexico fell 3.9% compared to the same period last year, going from 1,051,547.9 tons to 1,011,017 tons, the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) announced .

Among the 10 most important airfields in the country in cargo handling, the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) continued to decline , closing the cycle with 12.2% fewer tons than in the same period of 2024, ending with 329,970.4 tons moved.

Toluca registered a decrease of 21% ; it went from 33,002.1 tons in January-October 2024 to 26,076.3 tons in the same period this year.

During the period, the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) saw a 4.8% increase in cargo movement, ending the period with 206,862.5 tons, an increase of 9,425.1 tons.

AFAC specified that national cargo decreased by 2.1% ; AIFA reported a decrease of 43.5%, ending the cycle with 8,310.1 tons, which represented 6,409.9 tons less compared to 2024.

International cargo fell by 4.7% , from 726,934.8 tons to 693,077.5 tons year-over-year. AIFA experienced a 10.9% decrease, while AICM grew by 2.8% year-over-year.

In the January-October period, the national route that grew the most was Monterrey-Mexico , which went from 8,114 tons to 11,276 tons, an increase of 39 percent.

Meanwhile, at the international level , only Santa Lucía-Los Angeles, Los Angeles-Guadalajara and Memphis-Guadalajara had a growth of 107.6%, 29.5% and 29.3%, respectively.
