Guanajuato is one of the most important states in the Bajío region of Mexico in terms of industry and logistics. This state closed the fourth quarter of 2025 with a 0.6% increase in tertiary activities—which include the transportation, postal, and warehousing sectors —compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) .

In that context, the state of the country is preparing to hold the second edition of Road 2 Logistics Automotive 2026 , an event organized by the Industrial Cluster , which will take place on June 3 and 4 of this year at the Hotsson León Hotel, with the purpose of strengthening the automotive logistics supply chain in Mexico .

The agenda for Road 2 Logistics Automotive 2026, presented at Guanajuato Puerto Interior , will bring together the needs of more than 40 purchasing companies, with business opportunities exceeding $163 million annually . It also includes more than 600 B2B business meetings and the participation of over 1,000 attendees.

The event will feature panel discussions, specialized workshops, networking spaces , and industry experiences focused on the main challenges of automotive logistics in Mexico and North America.

At the event presentation, Ricardo Vivero, CEO of Cluster Industrial and general manager of Road 2 Logistics Automotive, highlighted that logistics has ceased to be a merely operational function and has become a strategic advantage for companies .

“Today, logistics is a strategic advantage, as it sustains the continuity of production. Road 2 Logistics was born in this context, and its 2026 edition is very committed to being a platform that can communicate,” he emphasized.

The event agenda, for which T21 is a media partner , will also bring together key companies and organizations from the automotive, logistics and foreign trade sectors.

On June 3, the panel “Strategic Intermodality: Real Integration for the Automotive Industry” will feature the participation of CN Railway , Ferromex, Henco and Trayecto ; while the panel “The World Cup of Automotive Logistics is played in North America” will integrate the vision of FORVIA, Nexteer, and BMW Group San Luis Potosí Plant.

On June 4, the discussion “Playing under new rules: customs reform and logistics competitiveness” will bring together representatives from Kasai Mexicana, the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (Comce) , LEXAT and Pirelli to analyze regulatory changes, compliance in foreign trade and the challenges that companies face in maintaining efficient and competitive operations.

The program also includes awards that highlight logistical excellence, supply chain transformation, leadership in strategic sourcing , and the legacy of projects that have contributed to the logistical and industrial development of Mexico.

At the event’s presentation, Héctor López Santillana, general director of Guanajuato Inland Port, shared the importance of having logistics and industrial platforms capable of connecting infrastructure, connectivity, talent, industry, and specialized services to strengthen regional competitiveness. “Logistics is a shared challenge and can only be solved through collaboration,” he emphasized.

From a business perspective, Astrid Abugaber, from Abu Logistics , emphasized how these types of meetings open up business opportunities for logistics and supplier companies seeking to respond to the new challenges of the supply chain .

“ Nearshoring will not be sustained solely by industrial parks or foreign investment; it will be sustained by infrastructure, more agile customs, and collaboration between industry, government, and suppliers (…) That is why I believe that spaces like Road 2 Logistics are fundamental,” he pointed out.

Alfredo Arzola, general director of the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster (CLAUGTO) , emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between business organizations, clusters, purchasing companies and suppliers to raise the competitiveness of the automotive industry in Guanajuato.

For her part, Brenda Del Rocío Sánchez Martínez, coordinator of Meetings Tourism, highlighted the importance of León hosting a specialized meeting that connects the automotive industry with logistics, technology and foreign trade solutions.

“To speak of Road 2 Logistics Automotive is to speak of a space that connects talent, knowledge, investment, and opportunities. This event, from its very first edition, has demonstrated the potential of León and the Bajío region to become a national benchmark in automotive logistics and supply chains,” he stated.

Road 2 Logistics Automotive 2026 seeks to consolidate itself as a strategic meeting point for the automotive industry, integrating knowledge, business opportunities, supplier capabilities and a vision for the future.

The consulting firm CBRE Mexico presented an analysis of the CTT (Cuautitlán, Tultitlán, Tepotzotlán) logistics corridor, located in the metropolitan area of Mexico City. According to the report, 76% of the region’s logistics inventory is concentrated in this corridor .

“Mexico City has historically positioned itself as the logistics hub par excellence, with 90% of its tenants being this type of business. This is thanks to its geographic location, as well as the regions of the country it connects. The increase in demand from the e-commerce sector and the need for efficiency in supply chains have driven demand for operators in the logistics sector,” said Francisco Muñoz, Executive Vice President of Industrial and Logistics at CBRE Mexico.

During the first quarter of 2025 (1Q25), the CTT corridor recorded a gross absorption of 198,000 square meters (m²) , equivalent to 65% of the activity in the capital’s industrial market, a trend that has continued in recent years. In 2024 alone, 47% of demand was focused on spaces dedicated to the logistics sector in the CTT.

Likewise, in 1Q25, the construction pipeline in Mexico City reached 508 thousand m² , of which 75% is under development within this corridor.

Regarding rental prices, asking prices have increased by approximately 6% annually. The vacancy rate in the corridor has reached historic lows in recent years, standing at 0.3%, approximately 30,000 m2 ^; while 40% of the spaces under construction are already committed for rent.

Demand in this logistics corridor remains diversified, with 65% coming from the logistics sector and 35% from companies dedicated to diverse manufacturing . Muñoz noted that the consulting firm anticipates the CTT corridor will continue to be a key industrial cluster in Mexico City, with versatile spaces for diverse tenants.
