SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCÍA, NL – For the third time, Trayecto ( number 1 of the Top 100 of Autotransporte® ) convened its clients from various industries, as well as representatives of its different interest groups in the Trayecto Forum , to raise various topics that the motor transport industry experiences on a daily basis and the challenges faced to reach the destination with the transported products .

In an environment that prioritized dialogue, sharing ideas and visions allowed us to verify the diverse realities and conceptions that exist in the national road transport sector, which will surely have a positive effect on how this industry is integrated into the dynamics and needs of the supply chain.

Jorge Casares López, president and CEO of Trayecto, was responsible for closing the Trayecto Forum through the talk: “Transporting with a 360° vision”, in which he not only conveyed the passion with which he lives the road transport, but also showed the model of integrity in which the company operates and shared the projects that the company has for the long term.

The proposal put forward by Jorge Casares sparked the interest of several clients , after the various talks held throughout the day revealed challenging scenarios for the road transport industry.

Ildefonso Guajardo, former Secretary of Economy in the administration of President Enrique Peña Nieto, spoke about “What kind of free trade agreement will we have with the United States?”

Guajardo highlighted the dynamics of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in his imposition of tariffs on the whole world, including Mexico, even reaching strategic industries such as the automotive industry, whose effects have begun to be felt in the movement of goods, which affects the trucking sector.

Regarding the review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), he stated that an agreement is not expected before the upcoming November elections in the United States.

Regardless of the negotiation that is reached, in which some elements such as removing tariffs on tractor-trailers should be prioritized , Guajardo was also emphatic that necessary changes must be made to avoid logistical inefficiencies and the lack of infrastructure, factors that reduce Mexico’s competitiveness, despite its proximity to the world’s main market.

To attend to various paths

Among the various panels held during the 3rd Trayecto Forum, the topic of “The impact of AI (artificial intelligence) on transportation” was addressed , where participants stated that benefits from the use of AI applied to everyday life are already beginning to be seen, such as predictability in operations.

AI is already showing savings and productivity improvements; however, it needs to be explored further to achieve greater efficiencies, while also addressing gaps in the legal framework.

This panel, moderated by Hernán Guerra, IT director of Trayecto, included Jorge Vargas, Strategy director of Daimler Truck Mexico ; Javier Valadez, Operations director of PACCAR Mexico ; and Marcos Diehl, head of Latam at Happy Robot .

The panel “Safe Journey: Prevention and Resilience” started from the reality that transportation safety is a multifactorial phenomenon and, as such, several issues must be addressed and various areas involved in order to find effective solutions.

A key point highlighted by Adrián Álvarez, director of Security at Trayecto, was the importance of understanding the relationship between investment in security and the benefits of companies’ profits. He explained that effectively channeling resources directly impacts company earnings.

This panel included Jorge Torres, Logistics Manager at Viakable ; Diego Carpio, Director of Bulk Distribution for Northern Latin America at Linde ; Julia Monroy, AVP for Mexico at Samsara ; and Adrián Álvarez. The panel was moderated by Ángel Garibay, CEO of ALA Transportes.

As in the other two editions of the Trayecto Forum, the panel “The voice of the operator and the client” was included , whose objective is to make clients aware of the reality that operators face, where the pressure that can be imposed in their work affects their lives and those of their families, hence the need to be able to prioritize effective communication and planning.

During the panel “Transiting through supply chains in times of crisis” , it became evident that transportation, being linked to various industrial branches, faces challenges related to inefficiencies, regulations and government provisions, to which it must align itself .

However, when reviewing inefficiencies and losses in the supply chain, transportation, being the last link, has to overcome these challenges, so all participants in the chain must address their responsibility.

Verónica Morales, Purchase Senior Director Mexico of P&G , Ignacio Lara, Transport Manager of CCM/Heineken ; and Carlos Casellas, Director of Kronus Logistics , participated in this panel, which was moderated by Rodrigo Rangel, Director of Larmex.

SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCÍA, NL – In its second edition, Fórum Trayecto doubled its capacity to convene the various interest groups served by Trayecto ( number 1 in the Top 100 of Autotransporte® ), where direct dialogue was held with clients, suppliers and collaborators.

While there are challenges in the supply chain, such as insecurity, lack of infrastructure, sustainability, and, of course, the fundamental role of trucking operators, this year’s edition added uncertainty stemming from decisions made by U.S. President Donald Trump, Mexico’s main trading partner.

Addressing this last point, the Trajectory Forum began with a lecture by former Secretary of Economy Ildefonso Guajardo, who discussed the importance of revising the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in 2026 and the challenges facing the Mexico-United States relationship.

One of the key points Guajardo highlighted is that uncertainty must be embraced as a key factor for the next 24 months, adding it to project and business planning.

The former USMCA negotiator emphasized that the current framework for this agreement is defined until 2036; however, an industry as important as the automotive industry has windows of between four and five years, so a change in the rules of origin is expected.

In this context, resilient supply chains were addressed, with the presence of David Gallardo, Director of Transportation at Heineken Mexico ; Oscar Del Cueto, President of Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) in Mexico ; Javier Moreira, General Manager in Mexico at CMA CGM ; and Ángel Garibay, General Director of ALA Trasportes ; moderated by Alejandro Marroquín, General Director of TM Transportes .

In this space, topics such as infrastructure, productivity, security, and, above all, the implementation of technology were discussed as key factors for achieving greater efficiency in the various links of the supply chain. One element that stands out among these companies is the incorporation of sustainability as a key to their progress.

As last year, there was a panel featuring the “Voice of the Operator” where Cinthia Moreno, Gabriel Cepeda, Ismael Osnaya, and Patricio Ponce discussed the challenges they face every day behind the wheel, not only in the natural conditions of being on the road, but also in customer service, where they have to deal with a variety of scenarios.

The panel, moderated by Víctor Salazar, COO (Chief Operations Officer) of Trayecto, was a space to recognize the important work of operators, but also to convey a message to customers who require adequate facilities to carry out their work.

The environment, social responsibility, and governance in the trucking industry was a panel that outlined the factors corporations must address as a factor in their market survival, and these factors are transversal and affect all industries.

This panel featured Bernardo Canales, managing partner of Canales Dávila ; Claudio de la Peña, director of Sales and Marketing at Daimler Truck Mexico ; Erick Reynoso, director of Freight Management Mexico at Penske ; and Arturo Álvarez, general director of Larmex Transportes , moderated the panel .

The Trayecto Forum closed with a message from Jorge Casares, CEO of Trayecto, who emphasized the alignment of the company’s philosophy with the projects the corporation undertakes. “We must be relentless and impeccable in achieving our goals,” he declared.

Casares López emphasized the importance of leaders in the current era, and that, from his position at Trayecto, he clearly understands the path to continue investing in Mexico to overcome all the challenges ahead.

As part of the second Trayecto Forum, a tribute was held to Don Pablo Martínez Montemayor, founder of what is now Trayecto, who passed away last January. Don Pablo had an 80-year career in the national trucking industry , playing a key role in the development of this activity in the region and in the development of businesses in this industry.
