To address the complex situation faced by the freight transportation industry regarding road accidents and the theft of both vehicles and goods, it is crucial for transportation companies to implement security protocols based on artificial intelligence (AI).

Additionally, partnering with technology providers and understanding their action plans becomes an armor that helps strengthen productivity and increase business profitability.

Addressing this need, Motive developed a security solution specifically for Mexico that integrates AI throughout the platform. Enrique Diana, Senior Director of Strategy and International Operations at Motive in Mexico, told T21 that when evaluating entry into a market like Mexico, the company focused on understanding the daily challenges faced by carriers.

“We see great potential in the Mexican market. We know there are areas for improvement in security issues, especially due to the increase in sector movements stimulated by the relocation of foreign companies to the country (nearshoring). But we are not just looking to set up a certain number of businesses; we want to have a real impact on Mexican freight transportation,” Diana explained.

In this equation, the operator plays a fundamental role. For Omar Camacho, General Manager of Motive in Mexico, the adoption of technology along with the application of protocols will help operators perform their tasks much better. However, it is necessary to raise awareness throughout the industry.

“This awareness stems from the fact that the intention to incorporate AI-based technologies is for their well-being. There is undoubtedly resistance from operators because they feel watched, which is why creating awareness is very important. They need to understand the consequences of driving distracted or tired,” Camacho stated.

In this regard, the Senior Director of Strategy and International Operations at Motive in Mexico affirmed that the key to the organic adoption of new technologies is to personalize each solution and cater to the characteristics of the operators. “Clients know their operators very well, they know what will cause them difficulties, and it is under this knowledge that we need to start working.”

For his part, Shoaib Makani, founder and CEO of Motive, stated that unfortunately, technology has not been able to help overcome road insecurity. “Teams use different tools to manage each part of the operation, and this is a mistake. What they need is an integrated system driven by artificial intelligence to operate more efficiently and safely,” he asserted.
