<p><a href="https://hutchisonportsicave.com/es"><span>Hutchison Ports</span></a><span> reported that the fire that broke out on August 30 at the ICAVE container terminal in the port of Veracruz </span><strong><span>was brought under control without any injuries.</span></strong></p>
<p><span>The fire, the company explained, </span><strong><span>was caused by substances that reacted inside a container</span></strong><span> during its loading inspection.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;This reaction caused other containers in the vicinity to react as well and life protection protocols were immediately activated,&#8221; he said.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><strong><span>At that moment, authorities and firefighters arrived and the terminal&#8217;s security procedures</span></strong><span> were activated to take control of the fire.</span></p>
<p><span>By the end of July 2024, the ICAVE container terminal had handled </span><strong><span>663,160 20-foot containers (TEU)</span></strong><span> , 7.5% more than in the same period in 2023, according to data from the </span><a href="https://www.puertodeveracruz.com.mx/wordpress/"><span>National Port System Administration (Asipona) Veracruz</span></a><span> .</span></p>
