The road transport industry requires innovative solutions that increase the efficiency of its operations and, in the face of current challenges such as security, promote operating schemes in a lower-risk environment.

This is how Difrenosa has incorporated the Halo device into its service solution since 2023, a development by Aperia Technologies , which is focused on maintaining tire pressure through proprietary technology.

“In this second generation, Halo has improvements that boost the transporters’ operability, make it more viable and have more advanced technology,” explained Jaime Tamez González, New Projects Manager at Difrenosa.

Among the improvements the manager refers to are the new dimensions of the Halo Tire Inflator, which is placed on the axle hub and allows the tire to be removed without having to remove the Halo , only by moving the auto-inflation hoses, which reduces maintenance work.

In terms of efficiency, the new Halo integrates pressure sensors, which are inside the equipment and are not installed separately, which prevents possible loss of parts.

Adding to the efficiency factor, through scanning the Halo QR you have the ability to identify tire pressures in less than a minute.

“The third innovation is the calibration of the inflation pressure. Previously, if it was programmed in a certain range, it was not possible to adjust it according to the operation or route. Today, through Halo Connect, modifications can be made in real time,” added Jaime Tamez González.

The advantages of operating the Halo range from reduced fuel consumption, longer tire life, improved fleet efficiency by reducing maintenance times, and, more importantly, reduced insecurity by not having to stop in a dangerous area due to loss of tire pressure.

From Jaime Tamez González’s perspective, these benefits can be achieved in different ranges according to each of the fleets and their operation, although these are the aspects in which benefits can be obtained.

Through Halo Connect, fleets have the ability to predict tire wear simply by checking tire pressure and lifespan.

“All of these factors contribute to the return on investment, but when you include elements such as security or the reduction of factors such as roadside rescues, the return is enhanced,” emphasized Jaime Tamez González.

Immersed in a connected world, through the Halo Connect tool you can view the status of the fleet’s tires, not only to schedule possible corrective actions, but also to perform predictive maintenance. According to the manager, this tool allows management by exception, identifying only those units that require actions, both preventive and corrective.

One of the factors that stands out with the new generation of Halo is the ability to reduce fatigue due to low pressure alerts, since other systems can alert when there is a loss of 110 psi to 90 psi, while with Halo you can alert at 103 psi, which translates into efficiencies and productivity.
