Terminal Logistics is strengthening its operations at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), where it will make investments in equipment and technology to provide better services.

“We have been doing spectacularly well at AIFA; we were able to develop good infrastructure, consolidate it, and at the same time, we had the preference of many airlines and clients to work with us, so our operation at this terminal has been much superior to what we expected. Like all new operations, we have had our details, but they are positive results,” said Luis Felipe Rivas, the company’s CEO.

In this regard, he announced that they will carry out different actions to improve, so that by the first year of operation (next July) they will have more equipment and the adoption of new technologies to be more efficient and competitive.

“We are going to make some modifications to our infrastructure to make it more efficient, and this investment will put us technologically as leaders at AIFA. Having more technological systems to make the operation more efficient,” he said in an interview with T21.

According to data provided by Terminal Logistics, in the first quarter of the year, they transported 32,590 tons of cargo. The latest statistics presented by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) mention that during that period, AIFA mobilized 103,932 tons.

From this airport, Terminal Logistics operates between 15 and 20 trucks, with a capacity of 20 tons each.

He said that the volume of trucks between AIFA and the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) has decreased from 55 daily trucks to between five and four units daily. However, the volume of cargo going to Guadalajara, Querétaro, Monterrey, and Cancun has increased.

He explained that the reduction has occurred because there are now more customs agents clearing shipments from Santa Lucía. “This service that we knew was temporary has been canceled,” he said.

Rivas mentioned that so far they have not recorded any type of theft incident with their units, “we know it’s a complicated area, the State of Mexico area is a very complicated area, the Mexiquense Circuit, the accesses to Mexico City, and Highway 57, to say the least, but we haven’t had any incidents.”

He recalled that in the coming weeks, they will begin operations at the new domestic cargo terminal at Querétaro Airport in partnership with DHL Express.
