Guadalajara is not only the epicenter of mariachi and tequila; it’s now also the nerve center of Mack Trucks® in Mexico . In an event laden with symbolism and visibility, the American brand, with more than 125 years of history, officially opened its new headquarters in the Jalisco capital with the help of Total Trucks México (TTM) .

“We are very happy to have her, because we trust she will meet all of your expectations and needs,” said Juan Carlos Uribe, director of TTM, as he welcomed clients, partners, suppliers, and the media gathered to celebrate this new chapter for the brand in the country.

Although the building was presented as the new headquarters, Uribe and Eduardo Herrera, vice president of Mack Trucks Exports, explained that Mack ‘s concept of “centrality” is more about where the customer is. Furthermore, in an interview with T21, they announced that new openings are already planned in Monterrey and Mexico City.

The newly opened branch boasts seven thousand square meters of construction, the result of a multi-million-dollar investment that includes additional assets and furnishings. In its initial phase, it offers 12 service bays, with a focus on immediate technical support and infrastructure ready to soon incorporate electric trucks .

During the event, the symbolic delivery of 16 units to Autofletes Gómez Leal also took place , as part of a larger order for 65 trucks. The event not only represented a sale, but also the beginning of a shared journey between the customer and the brand, reflecting the commitment Mack seeks to strengthen with each carrier.

A bulldog with history

Founded in 1900 by brothers Jack and Gus Mack in Brooklyn , the brand built its reputation on the promise of ruggedness, durability and strength.

Regarding this, Gome Gómez, president of Grupo Tracsa, commented: “In 1916, they already had the Mack AC model, which was sent to World War I. They started calling it the bulldog because it was strong, resilient… and because it had a protruding jaw.”

Since then, the bulldog has ceased to be just a symbol: it was carved by an engineer using soap during convalescence, and it has adorned the hood of every truck ever since. The brand has appeared in films like Mad Max, Cars, Convoy, and Transformers , as well as in country, hip-hop, and other songs.

“It still looks like a well-made truck, something huge, something strong,” Gomez emphasized.

Today, with its new headquarters in Zapopan, Mack not only honors that legacy but also charts a course for the future of transportation in Mexico.
