<p><strong><span dir="auto">GUADALAJARA, JAL.-</span></strong><span dir="auto"> Within the framework of </span><strong><a href="https://expotransporte.com/"><span dir="auto">Expo Transporte ANPACT 2025</span></a></strong><span dir="auto"> , </span><strong><a href="https://daimler.com.mx/es-mx/"><span dir="auto">Daimler Truck Mexico</span></a></strong><span dir="auto"> officially presented the </span><strong><span dir="auto">fifth generation Freightliner Cascadia</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , a model that represents the latest technological and efficiency evolution of the brand.</span></p>

<h4><strong><span dir="auto">Aerodynamic redesign and greater efficiency</span></strong></h4>
<p><span dir="auto">The </span><strong><span dir="auto">fifth-generation Cascadia</span></strong><span dir="auto"> features a </span><strong><span dir="auto">complete redesign</span></strong><span dir="auto"> of the hood, grille, and headlights, elements that, according to Barreiro, were optimized after “many hours of engineering and wind tunnel testing.” These structural improvements achieve </span><strong><span dir="auto">fuel efficiency of up to 2.9%</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , with a </span><strong><span dir="auto">cumulative improvement of 35% compared to previous models</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , the result of years of development and continuous testing.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">According to </span><strong><span dir="auto">Jorge Vargas</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , Director of Market Development and Product Portfolio at </span><strong><span dir="auto">Daimler Truck Mexico</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , the new model is equipped with a </span><strong><span dir="auto">Detroit Diesel DD13 engine with </span></strong><strong><span dir="auto">GHG24</span></strong><span dir="auto"> technology , whose pairing with the </span><strong><span dir="auto">DT12</span></strong><span dir="auto"> transmission facilitates operation and improves the profitability of the unit.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Barreiro added that this configuration offers a more comfortable ride for the operator and a more competitive total cost of ownership.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">“We’ve worked on the hood, creating a more aerodynamic redesign, a wider grille, and LED headlights that improve driver performance. All of this translates into greater profitability for our customers,” the executive explained.</span></p></blockquote>
<h4><strong><span dir="auto">Security, connectivity and technology</span></strong></h4>
<p><span dir="auto">The new </span><strong><span dir="auto">Cascadia</span></strong><span dir="auto"> comes standard with the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Detroit Assurance</span></strong><span dir="auto"> system , which integrates driver assistance features, and the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Freightliner Link</span></strong><span dir="auto"> platform , offering real-time connectivity and monitoring. It also includes the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Driver Coach</span></strong><span dir="auto"> tool , designed to improve driving habits and reduce fuel consumption.</span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">The new </span><strong><span dir="auto">Cascadia</span></strong><span dir="auto"> is </span><strong><span dir="auto">manufactured in Mexico</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , primarily at the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Saltillo plant</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , with support from the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Santiago Tianguistenco</span></strong><span dir="auto"> complex . Barreiro emphasized that it is a collaborative effort between the engineering teams, plant employees, and customers, whose feedback was incorporated into the final design.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">“It has been a collaborative effort from our engineers and field staff, working with our customers and our dealer network to ensure this vehicle delivers the best performance,” the executive stated.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">The </span><strong><span dir="auto">fifth-generation Freightliner Cascadia</span></strong><span dir="auto"> is positioned as the new benchmark in Daimler Truck Mexico&#8217;s portfolio. Innovations in design, aerodynamics, telemetry, and ergonomics solidify its role as the brand&#8217;s flagship vehicle in the heavy-duty segment.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Barreiro highlighted that the engineers worked on a simplified architecture that facilitates maintenance and improves after-sales service, with the purpose of </span><strong><span dir="auto">reducing operational complexity</span></strong><span dir="auto"> and standardizing customer </span><strong><span dir="auto">fleets .</span></strong></p>
