Cummins remains committed to strengthening its spare parts business in Mexico and Central America , with a strategy focused on product availability, technical support, and new alternatives for customers in the transportation sector.

In 2026, the company continues to work on initiatives aimed at supporting its customers in the daily operation of their fleets, prioritizing factors such as component performance and total cost of ownership.

“We are working on strategies for our customers and preparing ourselves from the spare parts side, in terms of availability and competitive prices,” said Roberto Zepeda, Spare Parts Manager for Mexico and Central America at Cummins.

As part of this strategy, the company has also developed market research and comparative tests between genuine parts and non-original components, with the aim of showing customers the benefits in terms of performance.

“We have worked on research and testing on non-genuine parts compared to ours, where we have found that our parts can last up to twice the cycle of a non-genuine part,” Zepeda explained.

According to the executive, one of the main differentiators of genuine spare parts lies in their durability and the impact they have on the maintenance costs of the units, since they reduce the need for recurring repairs.

In addition, the company offers its customers support through its warranty scheme, which even includes coverage for progressive damage in case a failure in one component affects other elements of the engine.

Technical support is also a core part of Cummins’ value proposition. The company has a network of more than 200 service points in Mexico , ready to meet the needs of carriers and fleet operators in different regions of the country.

In addition, the company is preparing new product offerings that could be presented around the middle of this year, aimed at the mid-range market and with the goal of expanding the alternatives available to customers.

“Quality and support,” Zepeda summarized when referring to the attributes that characterize Cummins’ proposal in the aftermarket.

The executive emphasized that the company will continue to strengthen the development of its network of distributors and service points , ensuring that they have an inventory of parts, tools, and trained technical personnel to support customer operations.
