<p><span dir="auto">The </span><strong><span dir="auto"> transportation, communications, postal and storage sector </span></strong> <strong><span dir="auto">registered an annual drop of 54,619 jobs in Mexico during December 2025</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , according to the National Survey of Occupation and Employment (ENOE), carried out by the  </span><a href="https://www.inegi.org.mx/default.html"><span dir="auto">National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi)</span></a><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">According to the survey, Mexican logistics reported </span><strong><span dir="auto">3,555,606 jobs</span></strong><span dir="auto">  in the last month of last year, while in December 2024 it was  </span><strong><span dir="auto">3,610,225</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , which meant a decline of 1.51% in the period.</span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">According to the ENOE, in December 2025 the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Economically Active Population (EAP)</span></strong><span dir="auto"> was 61.9 million people, an annual increase of 1.1 million.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">By gender, the economic participation rate for women was 45.6% and for men 74.3%. Compared to December 2024, the participation rate for women decreased by 0.4 percentage points and for men by 0.3 percentage points.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">By sector, the employed population was distributed as follows: </span><strong><span dir="auto">services</span></strong><span dir="auto"> accounted for 26.6 million people (44.1%); </span><strong><span dir="auto">commerce</span></strong><span dir="auto"> 12.4 million (20.5%); </span><strong><span dir="auto">manufacturing industry</span></strong><span dir="auto"> 9.5 million (15.7%); </span><strong><span dir="auto">agriculture, livestock, forestry, hunting and fishing</span></strong><span dir="auto">  6.4 million (10.6%); </span><strong><span dir="auto">construction</span></strong><span dir="auto"> 4.7 million (7.8%); and </span><strong><span dir="auto">other economic activities</span></strong><span dir="auto"> —which include mining, electricity, water and gas supply— 378 thousand (0.6%).</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In the reference month, the  </span><strong><span dir="auto">unemployed population</span></strong><span dir="auto"> was 1.5 million people, a figure similar to that of a year earlier. The unemployment rate was 2.4% during the reference period.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">The </span><strong><span dir="auto">economically inactive population (EIP)</span></strong><span dir="auto"> was 42.8 million people (40.9% of the population aged 15 and over), representing a growth of 1.1 million people compared to December 2024.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In December 2025, the </span><strong><span dir="auto">underemployed population</span></strong><span dir="auto"> (people who declared a need and availability to work more hours than their current job demands) was 3.7 million, 324,000 less than in the last month of 2024. The underemployment rate stood at 6.2% of the employed population, a drop of 6.9% compared to that recorded in December 2024.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Meanwhile,  </span><strong><span dir="auto">informal workers</span></strong><span dir="auto">  in December 2025 totaled 33 million, and the rate of informal employment was established at 54.6%, a higher percentage than the 53.7% of the last month of 2024.</span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">According to the ENOE at the end of 2025, employment in Mexico has remained resilient in the face of factors such as the uncertainty caused by the United States&#8217; tariff policy, which has spread globally and affected various productive sectors of the country.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Although a decline was recorded in the logistics industry, this sector continues in a period of readjustment in the face of the growth of activities such as e-commerce, which demands more warehousing and transportation services for the final delivery of products to the consumer.</span></p>
