Isuzu Motors de México held its first skills competition for operators, called Takumi Awards: Leaders of the Route , a dynamic focused on measuring the technique, control and safety of operators of the brand’s units.

The event brought together participants from the Lala and Helados Holanda fleets . The tests recreated common operating conditions within the Mexico City Metropolitan Area.

The challenges included time trials without exceeding speed limits, precision maneuvers, and deliveries in confined spaces , in order to evaluate performance under pressure and complex mobility scenarios.

As part of the program, the first Takumi trophies were presented , art toy -type pieces created by the Mexican artist Marco González, known as Mother Monkey, who also intervened live on a truck of the brand, integrating elements of urban art into a delivery unit, an activity that was part of the public component of the event.

In addition to the contestants, representatives from the companies involved, Isuzu executives , and the operators’ families attended, who had access to recreational activities and social spaces provided by the organization.

During the closing ceremony, Hiroshi Ikegawa, president of Isuzu Motors de México , pointed out that this type of exercise seeks to recognize the role of operators in the country’s mobility.

The winners of this first edition were Jonathan Cerón (Lala), Erick Ramírez (Helados Holanda), and Ángel Márquez (Lala). Isuzu reported that it plans to maintain this format as a regular forum to evaluate skills and promote road safety and operational efficiency practices.
