The international standards  ISO 9001:2015  and  ISO 14001:2015, which are the most widely used to guarantee quality and environmental management , are under review, with the aim of updating their criteria and effectiveness in the face of increasingly complex business contexts.

Although the final version has not yet been published, international technical committees have already begun to outline possible areas of change , BSI announced in a statement.

“The new adjustments are expected to promote a more integrated approach between quality management and environmental performance, incorporating updated concepts of leadership, organizational resilience and continuous improvement under more demanding criteria,” the firm stated.

For companies, anticipating these changes can make the difference between adapting in time or reacting too late.

Management systems specialists are promoting spaces for updating and technical dialogue that allow understanding where these standards are headed and how to prepare internal strategies for their implementation.

In that regard, an information session will be held in Mexico City on November 13 , aimed at decision-makers and those responsible for management systems.

Chanel Medellín , a specialist from the firm BSI, will participate in the event and share a strategic reading of the changes that could influence the way organizations plan, execute and evaluate their performance.

“The review of standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 not only represents a technical process, but also an opportunity for organizations to review their purpose, strengthen their internal leadership and align themselves with current market challenges,” Medellín noted.

The forum will analyze the progress made so far, the expected impacts on corporate priorities and management approaches , as well as the opportunities for improvement that this regulatory evolution may bring.

It is worth remembering that ISO standards revisions usually occur approximately every 10 years , and their objective is to ensure that management systems remain relevant in the face of technological transformation, new regulatory frameworks and global trends in sustainability.

Since its inception, BSI has participated in the creation and updating of many of these international standards, promoting the adoption of best practices that help organizations improve their performance, manage risks and grow sustainably.
