The morning began with a powerful message: in Mexican trucking, professionalization is no longer just a goal, it’s a way of moving the country forward . The presentation of the 2025 Canacar Distinction brought together companies, operators, institutions, and authorities in a ceremony celebrating the program’s tenth edition—a culmination for hundreds of participants and, simultaneously, a starting point for a sector that demands excellence every step of the way.

The event highlighted the participation of 412 companies this year , reflecting the industry’s current commitment to technical, operational, and human development. Of these, 86 joined for the first time, while 326 continued at one of the program’s levels (basic, intermediate, advanced, and business). The program resulted in 407 awards , demonstrating the growth and discipline that drives those involved in the trucking industry.

On behalf of the president of the  National Chamber of Freight Transportation (Canacar) , Miguel Ángel Martínez Millán, the general director, Luis Roberto Lastiri Quirós, stressed that the distinction is not a diploma but an ethical, technical and human certification that distinguishes companies for their ability to transform realities and strengthen their people.

The figures from the event reflect an industry that is professionalizing as rapidly as it moves goods. This year, 9,704 people received training , including administrative staff, mechanics, operators, and operational personnel.

Looking at the entire period of the current administration (2023 to 2025), the figure rises to 30,412 trained professionals.

Through the four levels of the program, 9,573 people were also trained , with the basic level being the most in demand with 2,450 participants and the Human Factor diploma reaching 2,033 registered participants.

Using an approach that integrates new tools, the “ConduPodCast” trained 131 operators on road safety, regulations, mental health and prevention

At the end of the year , 4,210 DC3 certificates were issued to 839 individuals and 141 companies . A decade after its creation, the program has trained 100,187 people and issued 26,441 DC3 certificates since 2018.

IRU Diploma and Outstanding Operators Award

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to recognize achievements that have made a significant impact on the sector. The IRU 2025 Diploma of Honor was awarded to operators with over 20 years of experience and exemplary leadership.

From a virtual participation, the  International Road Transport Union (IRU) recalled that operators are ambassadors of the sector on the roads and that their work sustains international trade daily.

The presentation of the Canacar Outstanding Operators Award added further recognition to those who have demonstrated discipline, safety, and professionalism on every kilometer traveled. The operators were called to the stage in three groups to receive their awards amidst constant applause from the companies and families who accompanied them.

The partner institutions also spoke to highlight the social impact of the training.

The National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users (Condusef) , the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (Conuee) , the Mexican Transportation Institute (IMT) , the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) , the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) , and civil organizations recalled that strengthening the industry depends on academic programs, digital tools, specialized diplomas, and learning schemes that currently support thousands of transportation workers.

The closing of the day left a message that encapsulates the spirit of the award: when a company decides to invest in its people, the effect goes beyond the numbers and impacts daily operations , road safety, and the country’s competitiveness. Canacar noted that each award-winning company wears a badge that not only recognizes their achievements but also commits them to continued progress. Because in Mexican trucking, professionalism also drives the country forward.
