TIP Mexico , a company dedicated to fleet leasing and management, announced the placement of its fifth issue of Trust Securities (CBF) for a total amount of four billion pesos (mdp), which confirms the confidence of the markets towards the company.

“Reaching another placement of four billion pesos is an achievement that reflects the strength of TIP México and the market’s confidence in our financial performance. We will continue to promote solutions that strengthen the country’s business mobility with efficiency, competitiveness, innovation, and a long-term vision,” said Mauricio Medina, CEO of TIP México.

In a statement, the company indicated that the issuance was carried out under the revolving program authorized by the National Banking and Securities Commission ( CNBV) , structured by Casa de Bolsa Banorte  and placed by the banking institutions:  Banorte , BBVA and Santander .

Since its initial public offering in 2014, TIP México has established a solid track record. This fifth issuance was 4.4 times oversubscribed, demonstrating strong interest from institutional investors .

The certificates have the highest credit ratings: AAA (mex) from Fitch Ratings and AAA.mx (sf) from Moody’s Local MX , which supports the financial stability and low risk profile of the issuance . They also have a term of 5.5 years, maturing in April 2031.

TIP Mexico continues to position itself as the only company in the sector to achieve stock offerings of this magnitude. This financing will strengthen its ability to respond more effectively to market needs .

Marcelo Ebrard , head of the Ministry of Economy (SE) , confirmed that there is progress on the 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum that the United States imposed last March on several countries and that affect the Mexican steel industry.

To date, eight meetings have been held with authorities from the northern neighbor on this issue, the federal official recalled, expressing optimism about the progress made in the meetings.

“I’d say we’ve had eight meetings on steel and aluminum. I’d almost say I’m an expert on the subject, but I’m optimistic. I can’t give you details because I can’t, but we are making progress,” Ebrard said at the National Meeting of BBVA Regional Board Members .

Following up on this issue, the Secretary of Economy indicated that he will be working with the business sector in the coming months.

“Right now, we’re working very closely with the steel and aluminum industries, and of course, we’ll be working closely with the business sector in the coming months. We’re going to have to cover many fronts and make many proposals. So, there’s going to be a lot of backroom deals,” he said.

Review of the USMCA and BBVA investment announcement

During his address, he also noted that formal negotiations for the revision of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will begin in late September or early October of this year.

“What I’m anticipating is that once this evaluation begins, we’ll begin talks. We’re meeting weekly. So, the sooner negotiations are concluded, the better,” he said.

He added that the three countries will evaluate how the trade agreement has fared and what objectives they will pursue.

“Keep in mind that Mexico has a free trade agreement with the United States. This country, the United States, has 14, 13 additional agreements, and our agreement is the only one today that has the condition that almost 90% of our total trade with the United States is tariff-free,” he explained.

Ebrard also welcomed the announcement of a 100 billion peso (mdp) investment—approximately $5.203 billion—  by the financial institution BBVA, which, he emphasized, “speaks of confidence in the outlook for our economy.”

“We are very pleased with the bank’s investment announcement of 100 billion pesos. In fact, it is one of the main investment announcements for our investment portfolio. We didn’t have it planned, but we are going to add it,” he added.

This investment will be made over the next six years and will focus on technology and financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Mexico.

The toll company in Mexico, TeleVía, has announced the arrival of a new CEO as a strategic move to consolidate its leadership in the sector.

In that regard, after 13 years in the company, Rodrigo Bernal Chapa will step down from his position as CEO to take on the role of Director of Operational Services at Aleatica Mexico, TeleVía’s parent company.

Bernal has been a key figure in the transformation of toll collection in Mexico. He was responsible for implementing the first high-speed toll collection system in the country and introducing prepaid-based payment solutions. Additionally, he led the operation of the first 100% electronic toll road and promoted interoperability nationwide among different toll collection operators.

In this way, he paves the way for Ricardo Dávila Mondragón, who will take the reins as the new CEO.

Ricardo Dávila brings with him extensive experience of over 33 years in the payment media sector and has held high-responsibility positions in companies such as BBVA, Net Pay, and Todito.

His career includes roles in general management, sales, as well as in acquiring business, issuing business, consumer credit, transactional switch, and fintech.

The addition of Ricardo Dávila Mondragón is aimed at maintaining and strengthening the ongoing success of TeleVía, driving innovation and technology in toll collection services for users and businesses in Mexico.
