For Sergio Morales , president of the Mexican Association of Logistics Operators (AOLM) , the country not only faces higher levels of operational complexity, but also a historic opportunity to consolidate itself as a key node in global trade.

“In a Mexico that is consolidating itself as a global logistics hub , our responsibility is clear: to be the strategic partner that drives competitiveness, guaranteeing more agile, secure, and technologically prepared operations for the future. That, in essence, is the mission we undertake every day,” he explains in an interview.

Added to this is the effect of nearshoring , which has placed Mexico in a strategic position within international flows.

In this context, the role of the logistics operator has evolved substantially. It is no longer simply about executing processes, but about enabling the competitiveness of companies. From highly regulated sectors like pharmaceuticals to industries like automotive, retail , and e-commerce , logistics has become a critical factor in ensuring operational continuity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Morales sums it up clearly: the modern logistics operator designs comprehensive supply chain architectures , integrates technology, generates economies of scale, and transforms complexity into efficiency.

Given this scenario, the AOLM’s agenda under its new presidency will focus on three key areas : boosting the sector’s competitiveness, promoting professionalization and innovation, and strengthening collaboration between companies, industry, and authorities.

The Mexican Association of Logistics Operators (AOLM) elected its new Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term during its Ordinary General Assembly . Members participated in the voting process to elect those who will lead the organization’s work during this period.

The Board of Directors was made up of Sergio Morales , from DHL Supply Chain , as president; Mayra Payán , from FedEx , and Amadeo Marichalar , from Faske Logistics , as vice presidents; and Felipe Ordóñez , from Promologistics , as treasurer.

Each of them expressed their willingness to contribute to the tasks of the association and to strengthen the participation of members in the sector .

Morales thanked the members for their trust and noted that teamwork will be key. Payán emphasized the importance of advancing the operational efficiency agenda.

“My commitment to this council is to advance an agenda where operational efficiency, value creation, and talent diversity move forward together; because the future of logistics depends not only on the reliability and certainty with which we deliver goods and services but also on how we are creating and designing the future of logistics from the present,” he emphasized.

For his part, Marichalar indicated his interest in contributing experience and solutions, while Ordóñez said that his participation seeks to add to institutional development.

The new Board of Directors will aim to continue the association’s projects, strengthen the representation of the 3PL sector in Mexico , and promote initiatives that boost competitiveness and innovation in the logistics industry; in addition to focusing on talent development and collaboration with national and international organizations.

In this context, AOLM is committed to adding its voice to a federation with over four decades of experience. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Montevideo, ALACAT now brings together national associations from 16 countries, representing more than two thousand companies involved in foreign trade and logistics services.

In Mexico, the Mexican Association of Freight Forwarders (Amacarga) was already part of this federation, so the arrival of AOLM expands national representation from the perspective of third-party logistics operators.

At the beginning of 2026, Alacat’s board of directors is headed by Leonardo González as president , accompanied by Moisés Solís Flores and Galo Molina Aguilar in the vice presidencies, a structure that reflects the multinational character of the federation and its focus on regional integration.

The  Association of Logistics Operators of Mexico (AOLM)  announced this Monday that the logistics company specializing in the handling of medicines, Ubictum , has joined as one of its partners.

“This new partnership is a significant moment in our evolution. It will allow us to share knowledge and best practices,” emphasized María Teresa Renán, CEO of Ubictum.

According to its website, Ubictum is an organization founded in 2012 that provides comprehensive long-term logistics solutions. It offers storage, cold chain, and delivery services, among others, and has available space from 10 pallets to over a thousand.
