The Tracto Clásicos group from Allende, Nuevo León , has been consolidating its presence in the country as a way to showcase the importance of Mexican trucking to society and the national economy . Through their caravans, they have visited various cities in Mexico and have traveled to the United States twice: Las Vegas and Yellowstone.

As part of this objective to promote the presence of trucking, Tracto Clásicos held an event in Allende, where it “brothered” with the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) , accepting the invitation of the Tracto Clásicos board of directors, where the collection of classics could be appreciated, but also the modern models of the Allende special edition and the 100 years of Kenworth .

The event, which was held at Hacienda Tres Lomas , was attended by David Schnautz, president of ATHS, and John Gravley, executive director.

The exhibition featured 84 trucks , many of which were used in the 1970s to transport oranges, sugarcane, and vegetables. The display included tractor-trailers ranging from 1943 models to those manufactured in 2024, taking visitors on a journey through the decades of the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. This highlighted the importance of trucking and the preservation of classic vehicles.

“American Truck has more than 21,000 members in the United States, Canada, Australia, and England, so it is very important for us that Mexico, with Tracto Clásicos, joins us, and that we bring the collection we saw here in Allende to the next convention in Missouri,” said David Schnautz.

Meanwhile, John Gravley emphasized the impressive collection of trucks at Tracto Clásicos de Allende, saying, “It’s a great surprise to see this impressive collection here in a town the size of Allende. I see a bright future for the ATHS and Tracto Clásicos. We will inform the manufacturers about your collection and promote it through publications from the American Truck Historical Society, Tracto Clásicos, and Mexico .”

Tracto Clásicos plans to continue in 2026 with caravans to other cities inside and outside of Mexico, where they bring not only the collection of tractor-trailer trucks, but also the gastronomy and traditions of the north of the country.

Tracto Clásicos de Nuevo León has gone beyond the territoriality of this entity in the north of the country to promote the importance of auto transport in the national economy through the route of classic tractor trucks that have been in various states of the country , and also beyond the borders, such as in Las Vegas, United States, last year.

For the work carried out to preserve the history of this activity and prior to Nuevo León Transport Day, which is commemorated on March 12, Tracto Clásico received recognition from the State Congress.

This recognition was promoted by Representative Aile Tamez De la Paz, who highlighted that Nuevo León has historically been an industrial and commercial pillar in Mexico.

“Factories, companies and businesses, regardless of their type, depend on a key link every day, which, although sometimes or almost always invisible, for many, supports the constant flow of products, supplies and materials that drive the economy, such as freight transport,” said the congresswoman.

Aile Tamez emphasized the role of trucking in Nuevo León and in particular the municipality of Allende, “it is known as the cradle and capital of cargo transportation in Mexico, this distinction is not a coincidence; it is the fruit of the tireless work of generations of transporters who have forged a legacy of professionalism and pride . ”

In the legislator’s view, it is important to rescue the memory of cargo transportation, through the exhibition of classic trucks, the documentation of its evolution and, above all, its altruistic activities throughout the municipality of Allende.

In addition to preserving history, Tracto Clásicos promotes the creation of public policies that strengthen road safety, reduce the corruption faced every day, and value and raise awareness of the importance of freight transport.

Congress President Lorena de la Garza said that Nuevo León is the industrial heart of Mexico, but its mobility is a bottleneck that hinders its potential.

“Our transporters experience it firsthand: hours lost in traffic, saturated access to industrial parks, and roads that have not grown at the same pace as the state. We cannot allow the lack of mobility solutions to continue affecting those who make it possible for the economy to continue moving forward,” said De la Garza.

In her view, the State Congress has assumed the responsibility of promoting real solutions. “We need a mobility policy that guarantees modern roads, efficient infrastructure and better planning for urban growth. We cannot think of a more competitive Nuevo León without guaranteeing agile and safe roads for freight transport and for all citizens,” said the deputy.

Tracto Clásicos has carried out various activities in addition to Allende, NL., it has been present in Mazatlán, Sin; Veracruz, Ver., Mérida, Yuc. , and in 2024 they transcended borders by arriving at an exhibition of classic tractor trucks in Las Vegas.

At the next edition of MT Mexico in Allende, Tracto Clásicos will once again exhibit the units within the framework of the event.

ALLENDE, NL – This municipality of Nuevo León, located south of Monterrey, is recognized as the capital of cargo transportation , from which various transport groups have emerged that today appear at the national and international level.

In this municipality of 35,289 inhabitants, according to the most recent Population Census, motor transportation is predominant given that it is the third economic activity that generates the most employment in the entity.

“This book not only talks about the history of motor transportation, but also about men and women who with tenacity have created history of kilometers and kilometers traveled represented in the images of tractor trucks. The edition and presentation of the Tracto Clásicos de Nuevo León 2024 book is a material that shows the essence of families that work to form large companies,” said Raúl Tamez Tamez, president of Tracto Clásicos Nuevo León.

At the Allende Theater, before an audience of nearly 200 members of Tracto Clásicos de Nuevo León, the first edition of the book was presented, which consists of 104 pages and refers to the units that make up this group as year-model units since the decade of the 40s of the 20th century, and which closes with the edition of the Kenworth Centenario and Kenworth Tejón models , the latter presented last May and which represents the importance of this region in national motor transportation.

Carlos Ayala was the godfather of this first edition of the book, since in his former position as deputy general director – commercial of PACCAR Mexico, he was the one who promoted the edition of the Kenworth T880 Tejón tractor truck.

“It is worth recognizing the work they do that goes beyond assembling classic tractors, but that they have altruistic work and speaks of their quality as human beings. I celebrate this initiative that speaks of the essence of the city, of the origin of transportation in Mexico,” said Carlos Ayala, who participated in PACCAR México for 39 years, where he was able to meet the transporters of Allende.

Patricia Salazar Marroquín, municipal president of Allende , has been close to motor transportation activities, and where in consecutive periods of government she has been more aware of the relevance of this economic sector.

“Economic activity has grown 60% (between 2018 and 2024) where motor transportation has been key to the promotion of various sectors, such as services in the municipality,” Salazar Marroquín told T21.

The first edition of Tracto Clásicos de Nuevo León consists of 56 photographs of classic tractors , in addition to the graphics of Tejo tractors.

Taking advantage of the presentation of the book, a monument was unveiled in the main square of Allende to recognize the importance of motor transportation in the region, which recognizes not only the businessmen who have started their businesses to develop large companies and promote the region, but to the operators who are key to the advancement of this activity, described Raúl Tamez.
