<p><span dir="auto">Jorge Navarro, commercial director of Trucks &amp; Buses at Scania Mexico, acknowledged that TMS ( </span><a href="https://t21.com.mx/revista-t21-diciembre-2024/"><span dir="auto">number 10 in the Top 100 of Autotransporte®</span></a><span dir="auto"> ) was </span><strong><span dir="auto">the first customer in Latin America to receive the Scania Super</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , Scania&#8217;s highest evolution in diesel engines, and that among its qualities is the improvement in fuel efficiency by at least 8% compared to the previous generation.</span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">Although the first unit was delivered in 2022, the relationship between Scania and TMS began in 2021 when Raúl Monroy Otero, CEO of TMS, connected via LinkedIn with Alejandro Mondragón, President and CEO of Scania Mexico, </span><strong><span dir="auto">with the goal of gaining insight into and learning about Scania&#8217;s technologies.</span></strong></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Alejandro Mondragón himself recalled that when he took over as general manager of the Swedish brand in Mexico, he reviewed the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Top 100 Autotransporte®</span></strong><span dir="auto"> to find out which fleets they worked with, and that&#8217;s </span><strong><span dir="auto">where TMS was identified.</span></strong></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">Raúl Monroy Otero, CEO of TMS, emphasized that the relationship they began almost four years ago has demonstrated their alignment on various values, such as innovation, a vision for the future, and support from both the sales and maintenance departments.</span></p></blockquote>

<p><span>Despite this context, </span><strong><a href="https://www.scania.com/mx/es/home.html"><span>Scania Mexico</span></a><span> is committed to the country with sustained investments</span></strong><span> and long-term expansion plans, according to Alejandro Mondragón, CEO of the company, during the inauguration of the branch in Tepotzotlán, State of Mexico, where he addressed the economic challenges facing Mexico and highlighted the company&#8217;s commitment to innovation in the transportation sector.</span></p>
<p><span>In his remarks, Mondragón noted that Mexico is the country most exposed to tariffs in its trade relationship with the United States, as more than 40% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) depends on exports and imports from that country, a situation that represents a challenge for the industry.</span></p>

<p><span>He assured that the company maintains its confidence in the Mexican market and will continue with its growth plan. As part of this strategy, the company plans to open </span><strong><span>45 branches in the country by 2029</span></strong><span> .</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;This is our way of telling the country that Scania is in Mexico for the long term. This isn&#8217;t a one- or two-year project; we&#8217;re here to be part of the country&#8217;s society and industrial development,&#8221; Mondragón said.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span>Regarding technology, he highlighted the company&#8217;s role in the evolution of transportation in Mexico, especially in the sale of </span><strong><span>cab-over trucks.</span></strong></p>
<p><span>He explained that Scania leads the bus segment, ensuring that one in every two buses on the roads operates with the brand&#8217;s technology and that Mexico is the market that sells the most Scania bus platforms globally.</span></p>
<p><span>In his speech, Mondragón acknowledged the country&#8217;s economic challenges, but made it clear that Scania will continue to support the future of transportation in Mexico.</span></p>

<p><span>With the aim of maintaining constant evolution and being close to customers, </span><a href="https://www.scania.com/mx/es/home.html"><span>Scania Mexico</span></a><span> announced movements that are aligned with its strategy of attention, safety and service.</span></p>
<p><span>Scania announced in a statement that </span><strong><span>Jorge Navarro will take over as Commercial Director of Scania Mexico for Trucks and Buses</span></strong><span> . Jorge has 13 years of experience in the company, “his leadership has been key in the positioning of Nüvak. Under his management, Scania Mexico has positioned itself for the second consecutive year as the leader in Scania Global bus sales.”</span></p>

<p><span>Said Vivas will </span><strong><span>continue to lead the Mining and Special Applications Department, to which he will now add the engine division</span></strong><span> , thus expanding its strategic scope. In his development in this area, Vivas has created a commercial and after-sales strategy in key sectors.</span></p>
<p><span>Before these appointments, Jorge Navarro was also responsible for the engine division. Meanwhile, the commercial and after-sales management in cargo was in the hands of Cristhian León.</span></p>

<p><span>In the path traced by Scania, the focus is on strengthening its service model, where through service policies they have </span><strong><span>eight thousand of the 12 thousand cargo and passenger units</span></strong><span> that circulate in the country.</span></p>
<p><span>For this effort, Scania </span><strong><span>will channel investments of more than 200 million dollars</span></strong><span>  to strengthen its service structure, where it is considering increasing the network of its own branches, but also the Customer Work Service (CWS), that is, the service points within the clients&#8217; facilities.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>The strategic plan with this investment is to double the number of branches by 2028 to 30, and by 2029 to have a network of 45.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><strong><span>&#8220;Although the speed of doing it directly is slower than doing it with external investors</span></strong><span> , we listened to our clients and they asked us to continue maintaining a direct presence in the branches,&#8221; said Mondragón.</span></p>

<p><span>For the CEO of Scania Mexico, it is clear that the strengthening of this unit will motivate them to have a moderate acceleration in sales, where they envision participating with a volume of </span><strong><span>two thousand to two thousand 500 units annually</span></strong><span> , which will give them a share of five to seven percent.</span></p>
<p><span>The service model, in addition to the CWS, is made up of maintenance contract policies, where customers pay for the kilometers traveled by the units. The third way is value-added consulting meetings to identify various indicators such as fuel efficiency, maintenance or failures, in order to find solutions.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>From the manager&#8217;s perspective, the path taken has yielded results: &#8220;We have clients who have won contracts because their clients value the configuration of their fleet, which includes the integration of sustainable European tractor-trailers.&#8221;</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span>In addition to the above, Alejandro Mondragón says that part of the brand&#8217;s progress is the result of customers seeing them as part of their business structure, &#8220;as a service department, where we connect systems and work philosophies, a professional department that meets their needs.&#8221;</span></p>
