LATAM Airlines announced the appointment of  Nicolás Poitevin as its new CEO for Mexico . He will be responsible for leading the group’s commercial and operational strategy, driving sustainable growth and passenger connectivity to South America.

Poitevin replaces Diana Olivares, who served at the airline for 26 years and decided to end her tenure with the company last August.

The new director has more than 15 years of experience in strategic planning, product development, and financial leadership at international companies such as Mercado Libre , Konfío , and American Express México .

He also returns to LATAM Airlines, where he worked between 2010 and 2014 in cargo planning and operations in Mexico, leading projects that optimized operational efficiency and generated significant savings, in addition to driving 55% growth in cargo handling revenue.

Poitevin takes on this new challenge with the mission of continuing to consolidate LATAM’s presence in a strategic market within the company’s network .

Mexico represents a strategic opportunity to continue strengthening our destination network and offering a travel experience that connects people with the best of South America. I’m convinced that, together with a great team, we will continue consolidating LATAM’s growth in the country,” said Nicolás Poitevin.

Federico Jäger, VP Global Indirect Sales & Strategy at LATAM Airlines, emphasized that “Nicolás brings a strategic vision and solid experience in management and business development. His leadership will be key to further strengthening the group’s presence in Mexico and strengthening our relationships with customers and business partners.”

LATAM Airlines connects Mexico with more than 160 destinations in 27 South American countries, with direct flights from Mexico City and Cancun to Santiago, São Paulo, and Lima.
