<p>Airport groups in Mexico closed the first half of this year with a 6.9% increase in cargo movement year-on-year, <strong>adding 621,444.4 tons in the period</strong> , with <a href="https://aifa.aero/">Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA)</a> being the one with the greatest growth , according to the monthly report of the <a href="https://www.gob.mx/afac">Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC)</a> .</p>

<p>Source: AFACThe AIFA went from eight thousand 485.9 tons in the first half of 2023, when it was just beginning in this activity, <strong>to 222 thousand 654.9 tons in the first half of 2024</strong> , a growth orchestrated after the departure of dedicated cargo from the <a href="https://www.aicm.com.mx/">International Airport of the Mexico City (AICM)</a> , a situation that caused the capital airport to have gone from <strong>294,603.4 tons to 115,770.2 tons</strong> at the end of the first half of the year , a drop of 60.7 percent.</p>
<p>For its part, the <a href="https://www.aicm.com.mx/">Pacific Airport Group (GAP)</a> achieved the second highest growth with 120,361 tons in the January-June 2024 period, 5,435.7 tons more, which meant a growth of 4.7 percent.</p>
<p>Likewise, <a href="https://www.oma.aero/es/">Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA)</a> had an increase in cargo handling of 2.9%, going from 64,156.2 tons to 66,042 tons.</p>
<p>The AFAC specified that from January to June <strong>domestic cargo rose slightly by 0.5%,</strong> ending with 190,151.1 tons, 993.6 tons more year-on-year.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the boost to air cargo in Mexico was derived from movements in the <strong>international market, which went from 391,971.1 to 431,293.2 tons</strong> , that is, 10% more.</p>
