Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a constant presence for trucking companies . Through solutions that promote asset and road safety, it contributes to productivity, predictability in logistics, and maintenance tasks.
At Samsara ’s Smart Operations 2025 event , Kiren Sekar, Samsara’s Chief Product Officer, said the organization has focused its innovation on positively impacting customers, “not only is the technology secure, but it’s also about helping operators solve their biggest pain points .”
Currently, Samsara’s entire platform manages more than 14 trillion data points globally, providing visibility where it historically wasn’t available, such as operator activities to ensure safety, the efficiency of units on the road to reduce fuel consumption, and the movement of assets, using tools to ensure things arrive correctly and in a timely manner, Sekar added.
A relevant aspect that the executive highlighted regarding the use of technology is that, given the shortage of operators, the use of data is important to make their work simpler and more satisfactory .
Meanwhile, for fleet managers , solutions such as fuel theft detection are essential for instantly locating and correcting incidents, ensuring the fleet operates efficiently for the company, its employees, and its customers.

Within Smart Operations 2025 , the discussion focused on how Mexican carriers have driven various developments within Samsara’s solutions portfolio , which were applied to address these needs.
Max Rencoret, Samsara’s Vice President of Product and Engineering, commented that AI is showing real benefits in operations. “It’s being applied to preventative maintenance. The interesting thing is that we capture engine faults and now show them all the information regarding the descriptions, what steps they need to take to resolve them, and with the assistant, they can complement all this information. And we also use all the data we have.”
Rencoret indicated that Mexican companies that are in the process of adopting technologies such as Artificial Intelligence seek to verify that they are addressing real issues, as well as making the process more efficient and productive. “We are focusing on improving what they already do ,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Cristina Sánchez, Samsara’s Sales Engineering Manager, recalled that when the company arrived in Mexico six years ago, its focus was on asset security, but over time, it has evolved hand in hand with its clients and with specific solutions for the domestic market .
