The Mexican Automotive Industry Association (AMIA) announced that its Board of Directors appointed José Rogelio Garza Garza as Executive President of the Association, and he will take office on January 1, 2025.
According to information shared by AMIA, with this appointment, AMIA reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the position of the association and the automotive industry.
“We are confident that Rogelio Garza’s experience in foreign trade, institutional relations, international negotiations and industrial processes will be essential to promote the agendas of the Mexican automotive industry,” AMIA wrote.
José Rogelio Garza Garza has more than 30 years of experience in the public, private, chamber and foreign trade sectors; and has served as Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce of the Ministry of Economy during the administration of Enrique Peña Nieto, as well as various positions in several federal agencies.
“ This is a very important professional challenge for me. The automotive industry has the greatest impact on the Mexican economy and is of enormous importance for North America. Today, when the industry is going through an important historical transformation, it is important not only to maintain its performance, but also to promote its expansion, ” said Rogelio Garza.
The association also reported that Odracir Barquera remains in the position of general director.
As you may recall, the position of CEO of AMIA was vacant since the departure of José Zozaya Delano on March 31, 2024.
