According to figures published by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) , the AICM continues to see increases in cargo handling , as it went from 115,770.3 tons to 121,866 tons, which meant a 5.3% increase year over year.
Querétaro followed , achieving a 2.2% increase , with a movement of 38,480.8 tons from January to June 2025, that is, 822.4 tons more than in the first half of last year.
Guadalajara, under concession to the Pacific Airport Group (GAP) , grew by 1.3% , going from 84,444.9 tons in the first half of 2024 to 85,530.2 tons in the same period of 2025.
The other airports in the top 10 showed decreases, including Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) , which closed with 190,232.6 tons between January and June, a drop of 14.7 percent.
The AFAC reported that in the first half of 2025, international cargo suffered a 6.9% decline ; the AIFA continued to be the most affected, falling from 215,733.5 tons in the first six months of 2024 to 184,906.5 tons in the same period of 2025, a drop of 14.3%.
Domestic cargo registered a 1.3% decrease in the reference period , as 186,580.6 tons were transported between January and June 2025 compared to 188,958 tons in the same period in 2024.
Regarding the 10 main routes nationwide, AFAC specified that the largest contraction was on the Santa Lucía-Guadalajara route, which registered a 32.5% drop , going from 3,861 tons in the first half of 2024 to 2,606 tons in the same period of 2025.
Internationally, the largest drop was on the Toluca-Memphis route , which ended the period with 8,552 tons, compared to 13,142 tons for the same period in 2024.
