There are routes that connect cities, and there are relationships that connect visions. When Scania placed its first units in the Tresguerras fleet six years ago, it not only initiated a commercial collaboration, it opened a door to one of Mexico’s most representative logistics operators.
At 90 years old, Tresguerras celebrates its history, but also the alliances that have accompanied it along the way, one of which is Scania.
“You see a Tresguerras vehicle anywhere in Mexico, and for us, that means real presence,” shared Manuel Aranda, Retail Director at Scania Mexico.
History wasn’t always linear. There was an initial stage, but as with well-planned paths, the next stage brought lessons.
“We came back with a different strategy. Today we have a sustained, close working relationship, with visible results for both them and us,” Aranda said.
The progress was made in the number of units, and also in what Aranda considers one of the most complex tests for any provider: ensuring consistent service, regardless of whether the unit stops in Monterrey or Chiapas.
“The challenge has been this: to ensure that members don’t notice any negative differences between one workshop and another. They should be treated the same in Puebla as in Veracruz,” he emphasized as an example.
With 160 service offices nationwide , Scania has managed to respond to the changing dynamics of a fleet that is literally everywhere. And this constant movement isn’t an obstacle, but rather an incentive to perfect its maintenance plan.
“It has allowed us to demonstrate that we can support a company that changes routes every day and still provide timely and quality service,” he explained. For Aranda, this is part of the value that distinguishes the relationship with Tresguerras today: the ability to adapt and grow together.
In a context where many alliances remain on paper, the relationship between the two companies has been built on shared mileage. “Companies like Tresguerras are what the country needs most: organized, straightforward, with a clear business vision. They’ve given us the opportunity to do disruptive things, and that’s appreciated,” Aranda commented.
Although the relationship began with a single unit tested for nearly two years, the results, especially in fuel efficiency, spoke louder than any sales pitch. Since then, the story has continued to add chapters.
“Today, we work with several partners within Tresguerras and continue to grow. We’re prepared for whatever comes next,” the executive concluded.
