
The National Association of Private Transportation (ANTP) held the twenty-sixth annual National Road Safety Award , a ceremony that brought together companies and operators that have made prevention and responsibility behind the wheel their greatest hallmark within the transportation sector.
Alex Theissen , president of the ANTP Board of Directors, emphasized that behind every moving unit there is a story of discipline, pride, and commitment.
“Driving a vehicle requires strength, skill, concentration, knowledge, and, above all, responsibility. The Road Safety Award is a celebration of life; it is the result of the conviction that safety cannot be improvised,” he said.
A total of 1,241 operators were recognized for their accident-free record and their contribution to Mexico’s development, as well as more than 20 companies honored for implementing programs and policies that strengthen road safety culture.
Among the notable companies are: Almex , Arca , Pilot Autotransport , Barcel , BAT, Bepensa , Bimbo , Coca-Cola FEMSA , Dairy Marketer, El Palacio de Hierro , Las Margaritas Bottling Plant , Esgari , Estafeta , La Corona Soap Factory , Frío Express , Zonte Group , Lala Transport , Linde , OXXO , Paquetexpress , Sigma Alimentos , Solistica , Marva Transport , Zemog , Zinergia , Azteca Liquids, Pilgrim’s .
Theissen thanked the authorities present for their willingness to strengthen safer and more efficient mobility, and reported that the ANTP is promoting a new program called “Master in Road Safety ,” designed to certify the best operators of each company through theoretical training and practical tests at the Mexican Institute of Transportation (IMT) .
Alma Chávez , from the Ibero-American Federation of Associations of Victims of Road Violence (FICVI) , also participated in the event . She recalled that each year in Latin America and the Caribbean more than 110,000 people die on the roads , and that road accidents are the leading cause of death among children and adolescents.
Likewise, Luis Ruiz , head of the General Directorate of Federal Motor Transport (DGAF) , and Paola Pérez , mobility specialist, recognized the role of the ANTP in promoting the right to travel in safe conditions, established in the Mexican Constitution since 2020.
The meeting concluded with the Hall of Fame induction , which paid tribute to drivers with exemplary careers, reaffirming that behind the wheel, you’re not just transporting goods: you’re also protecting lives .
