The motorcycle parts market is becoming increasingly dynamic and competitive, with global manufacturers such as India and China launching multiple motorcycle models in a single year, according to Juan Enrique Palafox, Digital Business Manager at Apymsa .
In this regard, Palafox explained that companies selling motorcycle parts have a considerable logistical challenge , since they must maintain rigorous control over the availability of products and the updating of their catalogs to serve customers efficiently.
“In the motorcycle parts sector we can see up to two or three new models in the same year, which creates intense competition. That is why it is essential to keep our catalogues up to date and offer quick solutions to customers,” explained Palafox.
He stressed that the growth of this market is accelerated and is driven by the ease of access to motorcycles, with stores offering long-term financing, which means that more and more people are acquiring these vehicles.
However, this expansion also brings with it greater logistical demands.
“The challenge is to have an up-to-date catalogue, and to solve this problem, we need to have a team dedicated exclusively to monitoring the products that arrive in the country,” added Palafox.
On the other hand, he commented that the auto parts market , although it follows a more predictable update cycle, also faces its own challenges. Updates usually align with the annual launches of new car models, generally in the months of September and October, which requires companies in the sector to have efficient processes to quickly incorporate new features into their offering.
Palafox also said that auto parts sales are subject to seasonality . In warm climates, demand increases for products related to vehicle ventilation and cooling, while during the rainy season, the most requested parts are suspension and windshield wiper systems.
“The success of companies in this sector depends on their ability to adapt quickly to market changes, manage their inventories efficiently and respond to customer needs in an agile manner,” said Palafox.
Apymsa’s digital business manager shared these points during his participation in the VTEX CONNECT LATAM 2024 event , an event that brought together leading specialists in the digital commerce industry in Latin America to share ideas and drive digital transformation in the region.
