
The Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF) indicated that 21 companies have shown interest in participating in the bidding process for the construction and design of 30.75 kilometers (km) of the Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo passenger train , segment 15 “B”, Monterrey Metropolitan Area .
The work for this project will be carried out in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, in order to connect the Monterrey metropolitan area with Nuevo Laredo
The ARTF specified that the allocation of resources for said project for the following year will be 5,041,255,103.77 pesos.
According to the minutes of the first clarification meeting, the companies that have also participated in other tenders for the new passenger trains promoted by the current federal administration are Caabsa Constructora, China Railway International Group, Construcciones Urales, Construcciones y Maquinaria, Constructora de Proyectos Viales de México (a subsidiary of OHLA), Constructora Garza Ponce, and Contratista General de América Latina.
As well as Gami Ingeniería e Instalaciones , ICA Constructora , Impulsora de Desarrollo Integral, Ingeniería y Desarrollo Inmobiliario de México, Jaguar Ingenieros Constructores, La Peninsular Compañía Constructora, Mota-Engil México, Operadora CICSA (a subsidiary of Grupo Carso), Prodemex Construcciones, and Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana.
In addition to Proveedora de Materiales del Norte, Recal Estructuras , Regiomontana de Construcción y Servicios , and TSO-NGE México .
The ARTF reiterated that the opening of proposals will take place on December 2nd, and that the date for the announcement of the winning bid will be revealed, as well as the start of construction on January 16, 2026, with an execution period of 1,020 calendar days
This section is part of the Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo train, which consists of the construction of a 395.77 km railway line, with proposed stations and stops in Derramadero, Saltillo Centro, Ramos Arizpe, García, Santa Catarina, Monterrey Centro, Las Torres, Bustamante, Anáhuac, and Nuevo Laredo Centro.
