Michelin customizes advanced fleet management solutions with the aim of facilitating fleet administration, so as to increase productivity. In this sense, its Michelin Connected Fleets tool includes the Smart Predictive Tire solution, which digitizes processes, connects tires and monitors pressure, temperature and wear independently in real time .
The data generated by this tool allows transportation companies to plan tire maintenance predictively and anticipate the services to be performed, minimizing the time a unit spends stopped to repair or replace each tire.
Likewise, with the help of technology it is possible to know the useful life of each tire, which allows it to be used in a better way , preventing early and inefficient changes, this reduces time and costs, while being a sustainable practice.
“Monitoring tire pressure in real time results in improved rolling resistance and performance, and reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 12%. In addition, safety alerts reduce road incidents related to tires by up to 80%,” the company highlighted.
The Michelin Connected Fleets solution combines self-developed algorithms with sensors and diagnostic technology, thereby achieving cost reduction, increased productivity, and stimulating more efficient driving, increasing the safety of the vehicle and cargo , which which results in an optimization of the service for the end customer. Furthermore, this data management allows information to be shared reactively between the driver, the fleet manager and Michelin.
Michelin Solutions Connected Fleets
- Accident prevention: this is achieved by real-time monitoring of driver behavior, improving performance through alerts, action plans and above all personalized training.
- Cost control: significantly reduces fuel consumption, vehicle insurance and at the same time repair costs.
- Cargo and vehicle security: helps locate assets in risk situations and ensure the security of each route.
- Cargo Conservation: Assists with monitoring and tracking loads and products sensitive to temperature variations.
- Logistics and productivity: contributes to maximizing productivity and optimizing the operation with tools that help with action plans, real-time driving, better management of stops for each vehicle and sending automatic notifications to the end customer.
“Michelin Connected Fleets is one of the tools that we put at the disposal of fleets in Mexico to achieve more sustainable, efficient and safe mobility ,” highlighted Juan Pablo Ríos y Valles Boysselle, B2B commercial vice president at Michelin Central America.
