MATA Automotive inaugurated and commenced operations at its first manufacturing plant in Mexico, located in the FINSA Aguascalientes industrial park.
The Turkish company specializes in producing authentic wood and carbon fiber decorative components certified for electric vehicles (EVs).
It will supply parts to companies such as Tesla, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Corvette, Dodge, GM, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, RAM, and Rivian, among others.
In addition to component production, the Turkish company offers research and design services for components and tools; prototyping and testing; dedicated program management and local support, as well as mass production.
MATA Automotive operates five plants in Turkey, one in Slovakia, one in the UK, one in China, two offices in the United States, and a Research and Development Center in Italy.
Now, with 20 years in the sector, it has expanded its presence in the country to produce approximately two million pieces per year at full capacity, generating up to 800 jobs.
“What sets MATA Mexico apart is not only its cutting-edge technology but its comprehensive approach to automotive design that combines handcrafted with advanced technology. The new facilities feature Atoyle, a design and development center where the best human capital works to provide a new vision for automotive design, fostering creativity and collaboration by interweaving cultures, promoting diversity and collaboration, resulting in a better product and service experience for the customer. We infinitely thank partners like FINSA for their level of professionalism and unwavering support to bring this project to life,” said Erce Kaşlioğlu, Founder and CEO of MATA Automotive.
Furthermore, FINSA stated in a release that MATA Automotive expects to invest $30 million over three years, in addition to setting new benchmarks for supply in the North American electromobility market, strengthening the development of the EV sector in the region.
The company records annual sales of four million pieces, and with the Aguascalientes plant, it could increase this to just over five million autoparts sold annually.
“The presence of these new MATA Automotive facilities in Aguascalientes shows the impact of nearshoring, but above all the confidence in Mexico by foreign companies. We are proud to belong to the network of suppliers and business partners that will revolutionize the automotive sector. Electric mobility is here to stay and grow exponentially,” highlighted Sergio Argüelles, President and CEO of FINSA.
