Maersk lanza nueva solución para servicio de carga en Miami

A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) offers a new gateway solution for air cargo with full service in Miami, United States, providing seamless and competitive connectivity to key Latin American markets.

“Our expansion in Miami is a vital and strategic addition to our global gateway network, providing connectivity from Asia, Europe, and the United States to Latin America,” said John Wetherell, Maersk’s Global Air Transport Director.

The new gateway, similar to those already operating in Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles, will focus on the transshipment of European and Asian cargo through Miami to Latin America with competitive connectivity on cargo and passenger aircraft.

It was noted that it will support the export market of North America and Latin America, and the Asian market serving the region’s supply chain through cost-competitive US routes.

This service is fully operated by Maersk Air Freight’s in-house staff, and the expected installation of eight thousand square meters is anticipated to have significant flows towards Latin America and offer key certifications, including:

– Container Freight Station (CFS) for US container cargo.
– Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF).

Brent Mayhew, Maersk’s Regional Air Transport Director for North America, highlighted the benefits of the new services for customers needing to transport high-value cargo quickly.

“In addition to our global gateway network, this addition in Miami provides our customers with significant added value, leveraging structured routing within a gateway environment. This includes truck connectivity through our station network in North America, ensuring efficient and reliable integrated logistics solutions,” he stated.

Fabio Acerbi, Maersk’s Regional Air Transport Director for Latin America, considered the new facilities to add a cost-effective layer of visibility for the company’s Asian customers seeking to meet Latin America’s supply chain needs.

“Our Miami Gateway offers an alternative routing option that can provide predictable transit times from our global network, enhancing connectivity, flexibility, and reliability. It supports the export market of North America and Asia, opening up new possibilities for our customers in Latin America,” he noted.
