The Bajío Industrial Park, located in the municipality of Zinapécuaro, Michoacán, stands out for its logistical focus and strategic location , highlighted Vidal Llerenas Morales, Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce of the Ministry of Economy .
Within the framework of the signing of the agreement between Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, governor of Michoacán, and Vidal Llerenas, the formal launch of the industrial park was marked. This industrial park covers 342 hectares and is the first of 15 Economic Development Hubs for Well-being promoted by the federal government.
At the event, Ramírez announced that a nationwide call will be held for registration of companies interested in investing in the economic center, as the operation will be carried out by private entrepreneurs.
He also highlighted the logistical conditions, as well as the location of the industrial park, which is close to Mexico City, Guadalajara, León, Querétaro, and Aguascalientes. He also emphasized its connectivity with the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) rail network to the port of Lázaro Cárdenas, the United States, and Canada, as well as with the Western Highway and Morelia Airport, making it an attractive location for businesses.
For his part, Llerenas Morales emphasized the advantages of this hub, such as legal certainty, tax incentives for companies, and ease of compliance with requirements, thanks to an inter-secretarial commission made up of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) , the SE, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) , among others.
This first hub is part of Plan Mexico ‘s strategy to reactivate the economy in various regions of the country and strengthen Michoacán’s industrial, logistics, employment, and investment sectors.
The hub has eight letters of intent from companies interested in establishing themselves in the automotive, food, logistics, and processing industries .
The facility is located in the central-western economic corridor, connecting the Pacific with the Valley of Mexico and North America.
It’s worth remembering that the 15 Economic Development Hubs for Well-being will be distributed across 14 states , including Campeche, Chihuahua, and Durango, with the goal of accelerating Mexico’s industrial growth, attracting domestic and foreign investment, and creating 300,000 jobs. This strategy represents an investment equivalent to 1.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
