Leschaco, a global provider of logistics services, announced the opening of a warehouse in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, which has been operational since last April.
The new chemical logistics center in Moerdijk is strategically located between the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, offering optimal connectivity within Europe, ensuring efficient transportation of products for customers in terms of cost, speed, accessibility, and frequency. The facility has optimal multimodal transport connections, including proximity to major seaports and important waterways such as the Rhine and the Meuse.
Covering an area of 29,000 square meters, the warehouse offers space for around 45,000 pallets in five sections. Four sections are specially equipped with CO2 extinguishing systems for the safe storage of hazardous goods, while the fifth section is equipped with ESFR (Early Suppression Fast Response) sprinklers for general cargo.
“We are pleased to further expand Leschaco’s presence in contract logistics with the opening of our latest hazardous goods warehouse. This strategic facility in Europe allows us to meet the growing demand from our global customers in the region and reinforces our commitment to providing them with innovative and personalized solutions in the supply chain,” emphasized Constantin Conrad, CEO of the Leschaco Group.
Regarding the importance of the warehouse, Sebastian Haebler, Head of Global Contract Logistics at Leschaco, emphasized: “The opening of our latest facility in Moerdijk is another milestone in Leschaco’s commitment to providing its customers with world-class solutions for their logistical challenges. This strategically located warehouse enables us to provide personalized support to our global clients across multiple sectors, including chemicals, healthcare, automotive, industrial materials, and consumer goods.”
In addition to its operational capabilities, the new ADR warehouse in Moerdijk is also an example of Leschaco’s commitment to sustainability. The facility is equipped with solar panels on the roof, covering part of its electrical needs, and incorporates various environmentally friendly measures, including underground electric heating, LED lighting, and the highest construction standards for insulation. Furthermore, proximity to the port of Moerdijk allows for eco-friendly transportation options such as barges and railways, complemented by electric vehicle charging stations.
