Kuehne+Nagel took a step forward in the field of logistics with the opening of its new facility in El Paso, Texas. This initiative aims to make a significant advancement in the cross-border logistics sector between Mexico and the United States, responding to the growing demand for services in the region.
The new headquarters spans 363 thousand square feet and emerged as a result of the consolidation of four previous warehouses into a single center.
This strategic move increases capacity and operational efficiency and aligns with the nearshoring trend in Mexico, providing support to companies in their quest to optimize their supply chains.
The location in El Paso, Texas, will address the changing needs of customers, facilitating the flow of goods in both directions across the United States-Mexico border.
Furthermore, the headquarters features enhanced security, modern offices, 54 dock doors, front and rear dock crossing capability, 125 truck yard spaces, as well as additional locations for vertical rack storage.
John Levin, Regional Vice President of Kuehne+Nagel US Central Area, commented, “With this opening, we aim to provide effective and efficient logistic solutions to our customers, adapting to their constantly evolving needs. This new facility reflects our commitment to growth and continuous improvement in our border operations.”
In that regard, the facility’s inauguration is scheduled for August 5, 2024, and is expected to generate approximately 145 new job opportunities in the region.
