
Kuehne+Nagel , a global logistics solutions company, expanded its facilities in El Paso, Texas, USA, adding 20,252 square meters (m2 ) to its existing facilities, which meant a 60% increase in its operational capacity .
Joachim Goller, senior vice president of North American Ground Logistics, noted that the existing 33,723 m2 facility reached its maximum capacity in just one year , reflecting the growing demand for cross-border logistics solutions.
“This success underscores the need for scalable expansion to support our existing customers and new businesses, while maintaining the high standards they expect. This investment further strengthens our market position on the U.S.-Mexico border and confirms that, despite current geopolitical changes, the nearshoring trend is alive and well,” he said.
The new facilities, strategically located on the border, are designed to meet the growing demand for bidirectional freight transport between Mexico and the United States. The new customs warehouse features 53 loading docks, 65 truck bays, front and rear transshipment capacity, and vertical racking , the company emphasized in a statement.
The firm highlighted that, despite tariff uncertainty, international companies continue to invest in relocating their production lines to Mexico . In response, the company expanded its infrastructure to support its clients in building more resilient supply chains.
