With a first edition that delved into artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in the customs world, the Latin American Confederation of Customs Agents (CLAA) will hold the second edition of the IADuana Symposium on February 19 , a space that seeks to promote technological innovation in this area.
This event will take place within the framework of Customs Agent Day , which is celebrated on February 15, recognizing the importance of this figure in foreign trade processes.
Nashielly Escobedo , general director of CLAA, highlighted that the evolution of customs processes requires that customs agents and companies involved in foreign trade incorporate new technologies , not only to optimize operations, but also to protect their systems and prevent risks.
The first IAduana Symposium focused on understanding the basics of AI and cybersecurity, generating great interest among attendees.
“On that occasion, we managed to help participants understand what artificial intelligence is, how it works and why it is important to incorporate it into processes. Now, we want to go one step further, showing practical and real cases where these tools are already being used successfully,” explained Escobedo.
The positive feedback received after the first edition motivated CLAA to organize this second edition, with a more practical and enriched approach.
“The aim is for attendees to learn about solutions that are already operating in the sector and to be able to evaluate which ones best adapt to their needs and processes,” added the director of CLAA.
The event, which will be held at the Marquis Reforma hotel in Mexico City, will address a variety of topics of relevance to the customs and logistics sector, highlighting AI, from process automation and error reduction to predictive analysis and the design of more efficient risk strategies.
Likewise, cybersecurity will be a relevant topic of this edition as the main axis of the application of AI and technological solutions in a secure manner, since the protection of sensitive information and data protection is essential.
On the other hand, the digital transformation will be addressed from the authority ‘s perspective , with the participation of the Undersecretary of Innovation and Technology of the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation and representatives of the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) , who will share the government’s vision on the use of these tools in foreign trade.
“We want attendees to hear directly from those who are already using these tools. They will see what has worked, what hasn’t, and why in some cases the expected results were not obtained. This will be invaluable for those who are deciding which solutions to implement,” Escobedo said.
The event will also feature a space dedicated to networking , where attendees will be able to exchange ideas and establish strategic alliances with other professionals and technology service providers.
